so I was out walking the dog last night and noticed that my exhaust pipe was hanging low. Sure enough, pipe broke.

So I bought this truck with a cherry bomb exhaust on it. The sound was cool at first, but it's getting old.

After searching the treads, I came down to a few options. OEM, flowmaster 40 or 50 series, and a cheap turbo exhaust from parts store.

I'm leaning on flowmaster 40 series. Is this the right one with offset?

Product Details

I will be running the pipes to the rear instead of the side like it is right now.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks.

I was wondering about doing a new muffler sometime soon also, I am curious what people recommend. As for your routing, I am about to move mine from the rear exit to the side, because with the top off I get a ton of exhaust smell going 25-45 mph coming back into the cab. Just a thought.

Running the pipe out the passenger corner will solve exhaust fumes coming into cab. 50 series flowmaster is a bit quieter than the 40 series but either do sound good.

If your running a f/2f motor the quieter the better. A stock small block falls into the same category. If you have a cammed up stroker motor then feel free to use a performance exhaust. Loud exhaust is annoying as hell in my old age here. If your on the trail alone the sound shoulnt matter. If you are wheeling with other people, have some pity on them.

Mine is quiet until it hits that magic spot when loaded on it's torque curve , probably around 2500 revs . Mine exits at the driver's rear corner , 2.5" pipe , Mark's tri-y header and a 10" Dynomax open glass pack . At any other point , amazingly quiet . Hit that torque curve spot in 3rd and 4th gear it barks , loudly...

So far as exit point behind either rear tire out the side seems to be very efficient at getting the gases out from under you.
