Here is a mud flap I designed to work with some sliders I am building. The basic idea is when about to go off road the pins can just be pulled and the flaps removed and stored. As can be seen in the pics there is a storage hole for the pin built in so it does not hang down on the lanyard. I build it so the flap will self center, but just in case the wind blows it around going down the road I added a small hole for a zip tie. In case the flap is hit on an object it can shear the tie and still turn freely without damage. I also have to make a small piece of flap to cover the gap from the mud flap top to the bottom of the fender flair to keep mud from coming through the gap. They flaps should be fairly tough since Junk handled one and didn’t break it. :D

Here is another pic from a different angle if it helps. The bolt of course is where the release pin goes. FWIW, I chose to use round tubing in case I accidently hit the flap. That way it can spin in the tubing instead of bending, and then return to straight. Post some pics when you get yours done.
