I've had my '06 100 two weeks now. I'm surprised the rear mud flaps lasted this long. So last night, I grabbed an 10mm wrench and took them off. Doh! They hold the bumper on - but you knew that... I do know. Okay, the ih8mud boys have sorted this out for sure... To my surprise, there are lots of threads on this. And some very, uhm... creative (involving trips to Home Depot) solutions.

Realizing I was spending more time researching than it would take me "solve" this, I shut the laptop and picked up the knife. Ten minutes later, I was satisfied. I normally wouldn't post pics, etc. of such a simple mod - but there seems to be lots of head scratching on what to do with the conversion-van-type flaps on these things.

Step 1. Draw a line:

Step 2. Cut along that line:

Step 3. Stand back and enjoy your work... and come up with a real mod

Leaves just enough to hold the bumper on, keep the crap out of the bumper and hangs down just enough to stop most of the debris from hitting bumper. And if you drag this much flap on the trail... well, you're wheelin harder than me ;)

Looks good! I bought some floor moulding and got rid of the mud flap completely! Drive behind me at your own risk! haha
