MPG???? What are you all getting?

Woody - Yep - 8 maybe 9 tops if that thing weighs what I'm guessing it weighs. That's about all I get when I tow a 3500lb trailer. Your aerodynamics are somewhat better with that trailer and 40 than the box I tow, so you may do just slightly better. At least you are prepared for the shock! hehehe

80 is looking good too!!!

i'm tellin ya, this Drivin slow thing is really working for me. Less wind resistance, less RPMs= less working of motor. I'm gonna try this tank and drive around at 1900-2000 rpms (55mph) on the highway for a week and see the results. If it works i will try the cruise control next at that RPM and see what results in better gas milage.

Just put 16gal's of gas in the truck at a tune of $50.00 !!!!!

this last trip to Joshua, about 200 miles of freeway each way, I got a tad over 15mpg pulling our popup trailer. I've done about 16.5 loaded but no trailer over about 1500 miles of freeway to Moab and back.

so the popup is not too bad, less than 2 mpg less.

I drive like a granny though....

(CC is not that good for mpg if it's hilly)

E9999: Do you stay around 1900-2000 rpms on the highway?? 55-60mph

yup 55

of course, 55 is legal limit for trailering in the PRK so of course...! :D

Differences in fuel will make a significant mileage difference. Since they are getting rid of MTBE (About time, cause that stuff did a lot of ecological damage) and using ethanol as an additive, you will see less gas mileage with ethanol blend fuel. Some cars will get 10% less mpg using ethanol mix. Usually higher octane will increase fuel mileage a little, but it's now costing more to get a slightly better mpg so it's not necessarily cost effective.

Putting a license plate on the front is like having an ARB on that car...

LOL!!! And then a rear license plate there's your Kaymar.

I recently threw in a new set of plugs and changed the diffy fluids and I'm averaging between 310 to 320 miles per tank mixed city/highway driving.

Is that thing a Hybrid? Crushes cars and then gets 48mpg as a dd. Where do i sign!

Not enough!

14'ish city
16'ish highway

I am getting 40 rods to the hogshead!

But the BMW F650 just turned in a fabulous 69.6 MPG!

I know its a CHAT thread but, i figure everyones viewing here so....

I'm getting 280-300 to the tank driving 60 miles a day= 12 MPG and prices of 89 are $3.19 per gal here in NY, that is why i'm thinkning of selling the rig!

What are others getting right now and how much are you paying for the gas??

You need to find yourself a VW TDI. I had a Golf TDI for my commuting when I was doing that still. Didn't need it anymore and sold it. You can pick up a 1999-2002 pretty cheap (Mark IV). Either with 5 speed or 4 speed auto, you can get them for around $8-12K depending on mileage. Most will have a ton, but don't sweat it, the factory rebuild interval is around 400K miles. My best tank ever before I got scared and filled it was 849 miles on just over 16 gallons which I had figured to about 52 MPG or so...and it was an auto trans, the manuals get 5 or 6 better.

i promise i will never bitch about my $2.50/gal here in WY again.

So...I've only owned my Cruiser long enough to have to buy 1 tank of gas...but I might as well post my $0.02.

I'm getting 14.33 MPG.

My commute to/from work is about 13 miles one-way...90% of that is freeway. Cruise Control @ about 65 for freeway driving. My cruiser appears to be totally stock...except for the stereo.

No trails or off-roading yet.

I suppose this is decent from what I've read.
