Oh no. Another egomaniac coming to AZ. Kidding! :D I've never even played with ratings or anything. I think most of the threads I start would be -stars IF there was that option. :D

More like :flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2::flipoff2: with a couple of :shotts::shotts: thrown in for good measure.

Wow, you drove right past my place! (I live right off of 289, a couple o miles west of I-19) Next time in the area, I'll gladly show you some other trails in the area. Also, if you want access to the pipeline road, I work for the utility co. :)

True. I never thought of that. Ya, if he moves down here he might run into me on the trail more. Imagine all the pics I'll be taking of the Lexus when it's done? :D

I'm coming to Tucson next friday the 31st and will stay until about Tuesday. If there are any rides during that time near Tucson/Tombstone then let me know.

Cheers

We can run that day I believe. Moderate challenge? Lopez/Gunsight Passes in the Santa Ritas OHV area? I'd bring the 100. We'd meet at I-10 and AZ83 (road to Sonoita). Whatcha think? Want me to post it to the Club site?

I was just down in the wash the other day chatting with a cop about how stupid some of the people he finds in there are..

I wonder how that subject came up.

Honestly, I stick up for you whenever your name comes up in conversation (yes, it occasionally does, usually at the end of a run when we're reminiscing about funny forum personalities) but I'm starting to understand the beef most folks have with you. I'm still trying to figure out how you managed to turn an intro and area questions thread into a 'those guys are mean to me, come hang out with me if you don't want to be a sheep and we can run stuff they're afraid to do' reply. Why not just say 'Hey, I'm Joe, and my e-mail is x@y.com, gimme a shout if you want to hang, I don't come to the forums often' or something? Do you really have to have the controversy? Maybe you really don't see it, but it's so obvious I highly doubt you're not doing it on purpose.

Well, Saturday wheeling just got cut. Sorry MH though I haven't heard back so maybe you're plans aren't final yet? Anybody else up to escort MH?

I'll post a cell phone number and selected a campsite this evening. I can wheel Saturday or Sunday.

in order to post here on IH8MUD you have to have joined - IH8MUD = club

Well, there's no rules about that being a public forum and all, but you should at least be civil.

The 'club' has many different purposes. I use it to meet people who like to do what I do, and to communicate times and places to do it. Sonoran, obviously you'd like to use it the same way. Why not try to get along? You don't have to do the evil brain-washing stuff, like chat about your latest mods or run the Sonic trail every month. You could just meet a few people and go out 'wheeling with them. How bad could that be?

Not gonna go through this again fellas. It isn't the place nor time. Shut it down or I will.

I wont be near Tucson until late in the day Friday. First thing I do will be to find a quiet campsite. What about Molina Basin at the bottom of Mt. Lemmon, or further up the mountain (maybe too cold?) or Gilbert Ray Campground in Tucson Mountain Park or Catalina State Park?

I'll be in town then Saturday and Sunday but if there are no rides going on no matter. I will take myself up Lemmon and look at the road to Peppersauce. I need time to cruise some neighborhoods and the family will likely want to "shop" in town.

Anyway my cell is 951.252. 3842 and if you are likely to see me around I have a black 97 with a Yakima roof rack. You can email me until Thursday night at MH_Stevens A T Hotmail DOT Com

Cheers,

Mike

It's just gotten to be pretty nice at night the last couple of nights for me.. I like it warm so take that for what it's worth..

As for looking around, it's a personal thing so I'm not going to tell you x side of town is better then whatever.. I like to be quick to I-10 and Phoenix so NW works well for me. It's growing and has suited me but the east side has better trails, a little more rain, worse for allergies (winds blow w to e of course so there's a lot more non-native pollen on the e side) and then of course Lemmon, something that takes me an hour to get to the base of so that kinda sucks..

On the flip side, I can get to AZ Mills (a mall in Phoenix) quicker then I can get to the far east side..

Point just being, get a feel for the town, talk to some people and if you haven't done this kinda move before ask educated questions, i.e. don't ask a native 25 year old if he likes it here and expect him to say yes. On the flip side ask people why they like it and make sure their likes are in line with yours...

As a side note, being a place nobody is native to, there is less of a bond with neighbors then anyplace else I've lived.. People are all just kinda in their own world.. The plus being they had what it took to relocate the negitive of course being they were able to do so using ration over attachment...

GOOD LUCK!

You will find Molina Basin quieter this time of year. Catalina State Park will be quite busy/full this time of year. I can't speak for Gilbert Ray other than to say it is lovely over there. I will be working this weekend, but post up if you have any questions. Good luck with your searching.

On Sunday...I will be out in Catalina (AZ77 north of Tucson) until 12:45. I'll be 5 minutes from the start of the Charouleau Gap Trail. If you like we could take you up the best part of the trail (this Catalina side) for about an hour and then return back. Or you could continue on if you like? That's a fun 2 hours. ???

Kevin,

Please put SF's comments back up. Let's hear what he has to say.

TRIP DELAYED - My daughter has (I just now find out) a science project that needs be done for next week and so my trip to Tucson is delayed eight days until Saturday 8th.

I will be in Tucson now by Saturday evening so I could wheel Sunday 9th. While this has been a disappointment today the weather might be better next week and next week I will be able to stay longer, maybe thru the following Friday.

Cheers,

Michael
