Movin' on up! To a '99 that is...

I replaced the front calipers and soft lines today, everything went pretty well until I returned from the test drive. Apparently while bedding the new pads I popped the rear hard line just about where it goes over the torsion bar. I think it's PN47322 in this diagram, maybe 47322-69730 according to toyodiy.

My question is should I buy the pre bent part (if it's even available) or get a roll of line, flare kit, and fittings? If I need to replace more down the line it might be nice to have all the parts on hand. What type of tube/flare/fittings would I need?

Local dealer has one in the warehouse, it'll be here tomorrow. I'm going to put together a kit for next time though. Looks like the tool I linked can do brake line, fuel line, transmission line and A/C lines. Extra dies would need to be ordered but the tool itself is the expensive part.

I ended up going with an OEM brand Double Flaring Tool, the 80's guys seem to have nothing but good thing to say about it.
Amazon.com: OEM SAE & MM Automotive In Line Flaring Kit: Automotive

Also a 25 Ft. Roll of 3/16" Copper Nickel Brake Line Tubing

And Metric Brake Line Invert Flare Fittings for 3/16" Tube. 10 x 1 mm (Pack of 10)

Hopefully these are correct to make brake line repairs on any of my cruisers.

Now that I'm into it looks like I need all hard lines except the one going to the passenger side.

@beno are these available ? 47392a double tee. Hard lines 47312 and 47321 and 47314

I had to purchase 3 more hard lines and a double tee, nothing wanted to come apart without a fight. When looking up the parts I realized my truck doesn't have abs, seems odd because my 97 does. Why would they remove it from newer model? Is this just in the 98 and 99 model years?

My 99 has ABS.

Heres my booster, sure looks like abs to me but when the parts guy ran my vin it came up non/abs.

Also the non abs diagram shows two lines running back and to the passengers side, I only have one line. So confusing.

@djernie , thanks for the reply. Do you have 2 brake lines running to the rear axle?

Pretty sure ABS is standard equipment on the 99.

Some how everything worked out! I had another parts guy run my vin when I went to pickup and it came up with abs, and the order was placed for a vehicle with abs so the guy must have realized it was a mistake.

Picked up a set of bfg ko2's today in the 285/75 flavor. The po purchased a pair of Yokohama's 1000 miles ago at town fair tire. I tried to complete the set but since they no longer carried the tire they offered to buy them back for list price! Gave me $350 off the new set, I was really pumped they would do that.

Is there a lot of road noise from these tires?

Probably, sounds like you drive a lot more than the 5k/year my wife does though. I DD 35' MT's and theyre quieter than those for sure, i was looking at the the Michelins but they're so plain looking and not much less $$$

Got the new paint in, perfect match! Thanks for the heads up on these guys.
