Anyone mounted an etrex or similar handheld in an 80? I already have the ashtray area covered with sat radio. I am looking for an affordable mount that I do not have to screw into the dash or use adhesive.

What about over the factory in-dash cupholder? I have the cupholder from Slee, but I don't really ever use it, so I was thinking about putting that area to better use.

Went with a vent mount

Found a vent mount at Verizon--$20.

Is that vent mount designed specifically for the Garmin eTrex series, or is it a generic model? Do you have a brand and model name? I don't have a Verizon store handy, but I may be able to find that mount elsewhere.

Nope--It is generic. Within Circuit City, there is a verizon store. I found this Enter your location (click on chargers/cradles) online, but does not look exactly like mine.

I am kinda wishing the store would have stocked the suction mount cause its hot and I need my vent more than my etrex does. the vent is clean and out of the way, though.

I have a windshield mount

...for my eTrex Venture - it's a Ram-Mount, suction cup style. in my 60, I can mount it so it does not interfere with any visibility and I can see it well.

works well, and as long as you clean the suction cup every now and again, it'll stay put through tough wheelin'

HTH

it didnt block any view, and everytime you check your rear view, just glance at it and you'll know. Just make sure you do the suction cup properly. Quite scary when it falls and hits your dash, leg, and then floor.

I use the Garmin suction cup that sticks on the windscreen.

I have used a cell phone vent mount very similar to above but found mine a Wally World for 5 bucks they work well and mine gripped it very tight.
