prescott az,
Hey. I'm sure it's been talked about already.
I pulled a 96 fzj80 motor transmission tcase complete wire harness and computer to put into my 93 fzj80.
So I have which I believe everything hooked up and when I turn ignition on the fuel pump kicks on and runs constantly but the motor won't turn over or even try to start. It has to be a harness I missed or something simple I hope. Any feed back is appreciated Thanks..

Hmm never heard of anyone doing this. Lots of guys swap the engine and use the 93 harness, and tranny/tcase. Not sure your 97 ecm will communicate with your 93 electronics. Did you have the wiring from the 97 tranny and were able to hook all that up? The 93 tranny had a separate ECM. I would think you need to change some other wiring like the gauge cluster not sure your fuse block has the same inputs/outputs to power a 97 ECM?

You're likely missing the crankshaft position sensor input to the ECM. The '93-'94 didn't have one.

I think you need to put the 93 harness and ECU back in.

Just to make sure were all on the same page, theirs nothing "93" left. You installed the late model eng, trans and transferase and used the 96 harness?
You basically have everything 96 in a 93 body.

Your saying the engine doesn't crank or cranks and wont start? Big difference here.

Yes everything from the 96 motor transmission tcase full wire harness and computers. Engine won't crank over.

It's been well documented that the 93-94 don't play well with the 95-97

I'm guessing that just the engine harness was changed ?

I wish I could be of more help GLW the issue

Not sure which that one is
It’s in front of the shifter making sure your in park or neutral to start.

The trans and transfer cases on these truck are bulletproof it would’ve been much easier just to swap the motor.
It’s easy to put a 95-97 motor in a 93-94 not so much the other way around

I'm gonna look into it some more tomorrow I appreciate the feed back I'll keep it posted what I come up with.
