Hi everybody.I have a LN65 '84 hilux with a 2.4 naturally aspirated motor with extractors. I fitted a two inch lift and extended the chassis so I had room to move the tub back 16 inches and built a cradle to take my two spares in the space between the tub and the cab. This mod. solved the problem of storing my spares and gave me room underneath where the spare tyre was to fit another 40 lt. diesel tank.I now want to solve the lack of power in this old girl by swapping the 2.4 for the new 3.lt. turbocharged surf motor and transmission.I can get a half cut at a reasonable price and it looks like the way to go.Preliminary investigations show that the motor will phisically fit in the space and I expect to fabricate new eng. and trans. mounts, but basically I will have to ''suck it and see''.So my question is is there anyone out there who has done this swap and are there any traps to be aware of .Any advice would be much appreciated. Tazzy.
