Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

2019 LC 58k - $72k at auction. One owner southern truck, pristine interior, clean carfax, service every 5k at Toyota dealership, no screens, good tires, recent service with coolant flush, new battery, etc. Only issue I see thus far are some nics on the hood that I may or may not deal with. I think that made the score 4.7 of 5 (see below) instead of a 4.9 on the auction condition scale.

I have a source where a dealer charges me a flat fee when he goes to auction to buy for me regardless of what he buys or what it costs - so my cost is auction price + fee. Bidding started at $68,500 and multiple dealers (including several Toyota dealerships) placed bids. We tried to buy it before the auction before it was sent through the line but the seller declined (understandable). I was hoping for under $70k, but that didn't happen...

Extremely few late model 200s make it to auction. Below are the other results and what we used to set our authority.

FWIW, I am told that the 250s are not sought after at all. There were five (5!) with less than 1k on the odometer in the auction. I can't understand that - but apparently buyers are returning them and dealers do not want to retain them for resale. That has to be because they are getting new ones on their lots they aren't moving quickly enough. There is still serious demand for 200s (and probably more than a year ago when there was excitement about 250s).

As always, YMMV.

Awesome info here. Thanks man!

I just traded in a 2010 LX with 143k miles and got 16.5k for it from a Lexus dealer. Just posting for a data point. The LX was always a bit of a lemon, I bought during covid and it had a slightly sketchy history compared to what I normally buy. I didn't negotiate with the dealer because I suspected a valley plate issue and felt the price was fair enough for me to not sink more time into fixing stuff on it. I'm pretty sure the dealer sent to auction.

Good deal.
I think very few here are surprised by your observation of the 250. Maybe those in the 250 forum are, IDK. It is more of a 4Runner vehicle than a proper LC and people are realizing that.
I assume this data does not cover HEs. I doubt those ever get to auction. Although I see one at Carmax that is already reserved with 120k plus miles. I rarely see HEs there.

Did you have someone look at it or were you going off of photos and service history etc?
I took a big risk with no PPI, but only because this dealer had 400 5 star google reviews. I also got on a FaceTime with him and he showed me anything I wanted to see. Otherwise the Carfax and Lexus service history on the website was all there along with underbody pictures and a full YouTube walk around video from the dealer too.

I’m not super familiar with 200 series pricing. What’s a fair price in the southeast for a 2013 white LC with 100k miles, very clean, zero rust, mall cruiser?

I would think $40-$42

Zero rust (like truly zero) on a 12 year old Toyota in the SE is gonna be hard to find just FYI.
I’m going to check one out today. Will see if it’s really zero or not. Initial videos I received looked pretty good.

When I check Toyota Owners site with the VIN, it says it’s not a valid VIN but I know it’s a valid VIN. So I gotta figure that out and learn some more about service history.

Truck looks really nice. I can't see any rust :)
No KDSS on this one.
What are things to look for on hitch and spare tire mechanism?
Well admittedly feel pretty dumb. I could’ve sworn I read that the LC200 came with KDSS as an option and I assumed there was some sort of switch or button to adjust it. Now seeing that it comes standard and is a passive system. I look forward to learning more about the LC200 if I snag this one.

It does NOT have AHC, I know that for sure.

Hitch just gets rusty on the welds. Nothing structurally problematic.

Spare tire is lowered by like a chain. There is a housing/mechanism for the chain that is visible when the spare is down and it can rust and seize. As long as you can get the spare down it’s not an immediate issue.

In the US all LC200s came with KDSS and all LX570s came with AHC is my limited understanding. The specific valve I’m talking about is under some black shielding - mid drivers side of the car near the outside of the frame.

Lots of threads on here about it. On a 2013 there will be an unpainted valve housing with two socket head bolts. Housing is notorious for rusting over and the bolts for seizing. You need to be able to unscrew the bolts to adjust the suspension at all.

Do not recommend trying to unscrew the bolts yourself unless you have the proper tools. Imperative that you do not unscrew them more than 3 full rotations, as doing so will basically depressurize the KDSS and release fluid (so I’ve been told).

The price difference between 2016+ Land Cruisers vs. LX570’s is pretty wild. Makes sense considering rarity and looks (imo), but in all fairness to the LX, the LX is the better vehicle. If you can get over the looks and are ok with a more common vehicle, I’d say it’s a bargain compared to the LC. AHC being a factor that makes the LX a better vehicle.

It's shocking the difference in cost. I prefer the 200 looks but opted for an LX due to the economics.

I've learned the value of AHC and I'm at 184k trouble-free miles on my '16. I will add that the driver/passenger seats of the LX are superior in comfort (to me) and the Mark Levinson stereo is also notably better than the JBL.

My biggest gripe with the 2016+ LX is the lack of clean front bumper options to reduce the predator grille. Sure, there are options that work, but I don't believe any of the known fabricators have executed on a bumper dedicated for this generation LX.

I think it's just supply and demand. People want the LC badge and there aren't many of them trading, especially low mileage 2016+ models.

Rightly or wrongly I think some folks are also scared of AHC and worry about an extra maintenance item. I used to be like that but no longer.
