Hi! IF you're willing to share, I thought it might be helpful for the rest of us to better understand what the market prices are for the 200 series (and LX 570 I suppose). I'm personally looking for one, have found a few, and curious what others' purchase prices have been so I can negotiate (or not) properly.

Please share purchase price, year, mileage at purchase, and location (east/west/south, etc...)

Thanks and happy hunting for those also looking.

Fairly certain that’s the case here. He’s the original owner and still owes on it. He also said he won’t budge on the price and will just keep driving it if he can’t get it.
In my case I’m just being impatient, I’m on the brink of selling my only vehicle that I’ve owned and built for 8 years. I’ll probably just wait a few weeks and snag something with 30k more miles for $10k less.
I think prices are going to continue to come down on certain higher price vehicles. The data doesn’t lie there are more repossessions going on than ever before, people have overspent and FOMO got them in trouble. I think if you can be patient try to do that.

I made a couple offers on cruisers over the last couple weeks and was surprised I was able to get them down, not quite to where I wanted them to, but I think that’s coming shortly.

I figure this is a good a place to ask as any: I’m looking at a 2018 LX with like 42k on it and the seller won’t go below $58k. Should I hold out for something like $55k or less? It’s basically exactly what I’m looking for and I can’t find annyrhing local without red or white interior. Also, it’s missing the last 10k miles of service records but he claims it has new brakes and tires. Shouldn’t be anything to worry about, right?
Yeah, if it is "exactly" what you are looking for, then I would jump on it, particularly if it is a rare color combination or a rarer set of options (LX were more customizable than LC). However, LX are fairly common so I am not sure that black interior is that rare. I would presume red would be rarest. If it is only $3K more for Green, hop on that ASAP.

In my defense, this is 4x the price of the most expensive car I’ve ever bought.

Get a third party inspection (ppi). That may give you the necessary data to negotiate a lower price or make you feel confident in your purchase. If you’re serious, I would also add a valuation appraisal.

I have paid for about 3-4 of these and still waiting on the right vehicle. Good luck

@mikesean76 is truly smart here - Dealer/seller's worst nightmare, but walking away is the right decision. For many on here, $10K, $50K, hell even $100K is a negligible amount to them. But for the average everyday worker, do you due diligence, be comfortable in the purchase, and only overpay if it truly is the "one" or "one of a kind" (e.g., Amazon Green Metallic).

Nah it’s just a bog standard white with black guts. The second I started looking the only thing I could find was black exterior or red interior in my (fairly broad) price range. Again, I’m just being impatient because I don’t have my own car for the first time since I started college like 25 years ago.

My gut tells me this is too much money to pay for a 2009 but this truck is really clean in and out, owner of the dealer showed me a small pea size dent above driver door and that's about all that I can see wrong with it other than maybe a cracked windshield. Wasn't mentioned when I spoke to them but clearly looks cracked in a couple pics. He has more pics on their website.

IMO overpriced. There is a red one in the classified for 10k less with 20k more miles. Seems like you can get these older LCs in the 20k range.

It's slim pickings out there though for trucks that age that aren't pretty rough or rusty it seems. I've seen this red 08 on here, it is indeed a good price.

Priced high to me, but looks very nice. Cash offers talk in this market.

Note on the CarFax the truck was shipped to Belgium and was there from 2021-23. Interesting.

Yeah I already got the story on that. Owner had a government job and shipped it out there because he was working in Europe for 2 years and they paid for it both ways. I may try to negotiate a lower price on that but dealer didn't seem like the type of folks that really budge.

Hey guys - I’m looking at a 2014 LX 570 owned by a private seller who is offering it to me for $33k. It has 108,000 miles and is in 9.5/10 shape. I’ve driven it and it seemed to check out. Current owner is the 2nd owner. No accidents other than a minor fender bender. Vehicle was serviced at a local Lexus dealer and owner has all the records including from the minor fender bender. Always been in the mid Atlantic and south. No rust.

How does that price sound?

What do you think? Weighing all the information, do you think it’s a fair price? Tons of info here on mud and online that we can weigh all the information to make an informed decision. Mitigate/accept your risks.

My $0.02…if you’re seriously considering it, get a third party inspection/ppi. Not one you get from a dealership! Use a national/local service that provides a comprehensive report on current condition…google it.

This will give you peace of mind or negotiating leverage.

Seems fair. I am about to seal the deal on a 2013 LC with 153k miles (from the South) for $35k, considering LXs generally draw a lower sale price, and this being a year newer with less miles... $33k seems fair because I feel what I am paying is fair. Get a PPI though, or tell him $33k and he pays for the PPI.

I’m in the market for another LC or a lx570. Found a 2019 navy blue LC with black interior, no 3rd row, no TV’s with 33k miles. One wreck, 3 owners, southern truck. 67k before tax and title a fair price?

I would say not the best...I've seen a couple 2020 sub 50k mile 1-owner no wrecks move at 66,9 and 69. Texas and Alabama units. Wrecks don't seem to impact value as much as I would think personally, but for what I've seen that number is in the neighborhood of something just as clean/new/lower mile without the carfax ding. Good luck, I'm in the market too...2 months in and it sucks.

Hopefully this saves someone a headache.

2016 LC200 for sale by Lexus of Sacramento. Looks clean, but it is a life-ling Michigan vehicle. Due your diligence on the undercarriage.

Weird carfax. Its had 2 minor wrecks, and issues with a parasitic battery drain. Guy is sitting tight at $65k.

In other news I just looked up the value of my 2016 expedition el limited 4x4😬. Paid 35k for it in 2021, but we put 50k miles on it. Trade value is $11,800. Used car values are in free fall.

One thing I'm pretty shocked by in my search is just how many have something on the Carfax. I know they've gotten stringent with reporting, and simply having a shop run a vin can report things...but well over half have something on them which is insane. Stop backing up until you hear your deductible people.

Sincerely,
Future owners.

I remember when dealers would give you $500 (on a SUV that was 55k) for a trade in on an 7-8 year old vehicle even with 50-60k miles in 2019. 1.5 years later you would get most of what you paid.
