"Hey LUCY! I am about to undertake the phh and the starter on my LX soon. I would be happy to swing by tomorrow night as I am in Roy as well. Give me a holler if you need someone to lend a hand. Always good to meet another cruiserhead especially one in your own city. "

Order the PHH from our board advertiser! Good quality and great, easy to work with clamps!

Is that the blue silicon set up listed in the magazine article?

Lucy,

You'll need to drop the driver front wheel so that you can basically live inside the wheel well for a while! So, you'll need jack stands to support the chassis while dropping the front axle as much as possible. Since your back will be resting on the calipers and junk, I'd place a thick towel over everythig for maximum comfort factor.

While you're purchasing the hook tool, pick up a hose plier too. These are basically long pliers with rounded ends to go around hoses. Also, pick up a small mechanic's mirror to help you see stuff in remote areas.

Read the thread on another PHH project by Locrwln for more info.

Good luck,

Ali

Yes it is.

Well, I got the hose off and posted a new thread with pix, "Ultimate PHH removal tool kit". I can't believe how easy it was once I got the right tools in there. 5 minutes! 6" vice grips, bent nose pliers, and a linoleum knife were the magic combination. Now to get it put back together! Thanks everyone!

Knock sensor is still in tact! Thanks for the warnings. When I crawled back in yesterday I found it and tried to remove it, decided I was going to break it trying to remove it, so I just worked around it.

And yes, I did this with the tire on. My jack stands aren't big enough to work with the Cruiser. I'll invest in some bigger ones for the next project though, trust me.
