i took some time off from screwing around with my 40.
i bought this truck not running in an unknown state of disassembly, ignition missing
i've read a number of threads about ignition, and i'm wondering do '77 non-u.s. 2f need a igniter to run. it has the small body dizzy.
it seems there are a number of ignition related posts up right now. reading through them and the fsm it almost seems every year and model are slightly different.
sorry i keep posting on this i'm pulling my hair out.
i recently discovered reading a post that the condenser goes inside the dizzy. right now i only have a balast resistor at the coil no igniter.

i never even heard a running 2f before i got my pig.

thanks for reading and any input will be appreciated,
eric

Any points type distributor can be used both with and without an ignitor. If you use it without an ignitor, you will need to have a condensor (internal, external, doesn't matter as long as you have one) on the distributor side of the coil. Without a condensor, it will burn out quickly.

thanks, i think i might almost have it sorted then.
if it would warm up i might be able to get it running.
had it running a few times but like pin head said it would burn up points
