Trying to make this update a thing...

We got a whole bunch of projects completed or moved ahead last Saturday and were glad to see it.

Our next monthly club meeting is this Thursday evening on 2/23. Come on out!

Location:
Plan to meet at Campus 805 in the parking lot between Straight to Ale and Yellowhammer Brewing.

Nice to see everyone yesterday!

The Cove run will go off in a few weeks, with more to come on those plans. The Cove isn't to be taken lightly; so 35s or taller, lockers, and functioning winch will be req'd. This understandably limits attendance, but seats will be open for others to join along if they'd like.

good to know. I saw a post about 2nd saturdays at bill penny. I was about to make an oil change appointment for april and hang out while I waited.

signed up for the group me.

I was doing that oil change I said I needed.
I dont know if the shop over tightened my filter cap, or didnt lube the o-ring but it broke. I've got a pea sized hole in the housing. I wish I had inspected before i put it back on but I'm glad I crawled under there to check for leaks before I started the 4runner

All this happened about 10 minutes before Bill Penny service closed. I called and the quoted me $240 for that plastic cap.

I'm not taking a chance on amazon/ebay and getting a fake metal one

further reading and 4runner rabbit holes seem to say stick with the plastic one and make sure they are installed/removed correctly

toyota of decatur will sell them for $65 plus tax

My wife asked a great question; I wonder if the housing is covered by the warranty

Is there someone with a green 1980 fj40 in Huntsville? I just saw one in 5 points and I’m almost positive that’s my old 40.

this one was no top. black aftermarket tailgate. had the smaller early style turn signals on the fenders. I wasnt able to see if it was a square bezel or not or if it had the early style turn signals cut in under the headlights.
