Mojave in October??

I just talked to my boss and it looks like I'll have an opportunity to take three-ish weeks off in the beginning of october. I'm thinking of taking the 40 to ride around the mojave and death valley if I can get it ready/afford to make the trip.

Anyone have any interest coming? Two trucks feels safer.

Anyone spent any time there? What should I not miss? I still have to do some searching on ExpeditionPortal to see what others have done.
