Well - I'm either thinking that something seriously sad happened to the kid OR he's just down on funds like so many folks these days. If it's the first - would help to know, so I could have sympathy for him - or help out; but if it's the latter, the kid needs to pull his britches up and come clean - and establish a plan to make restitution.

Lots of folks I know are hurting financially - doesn't relieve them of some obligations (like selling parts to fellow Land Cruiser enthusiasts) but we're not gonna flog the poor guy if he makes an effort (well - maybe a little sarcasm). Integrity goes a long way with most folks.

As it stands - until he speaks up - he's just a thief.

He stepped up big time once when I lost my wallet at an event and loaned quite a bit of money for me to make it home. That's badass.

Fwiw, I have dealt with the buyer and seller. in both cases they were very smooth transactions. I've also met badass at two seperate Cruiser events and he's a cool cat. I don't see him ripping anybody off for $80. Hope you guys get yhis worked out.

Orange, I believe people would mind their own business if this was a one time deal. I think that people make it their business because everyone has been burned at least once by someone and it sucks. You are welcome to your opinion as I am mine. My opinion is that this guy has had ample amount of time to make good on 2 (yes 2) transactions and has not even made an effort to make good. Not even an e-mail to ask for some time to fix the situations. The transaction with Sputy is from late October. The one with the other Mudd member is from around the same time. The fact that it has been 3 months makes it anyones business if we are to do any legit transactions on this site. People must be discouraged from this type of B.S. If Badass is such a great person and you are a friend of his then maybe you should contact him and "remind him" of his obligations to a couple of people here on Mudd. Furthermore "WE" take care of our own here in our group. When someone steals from one of us they steal from all of us and this should be the stance that MUDD members take against dead beat sellers.
Let me ask you this, just how long would you wait before collecting your losses and calling a turd a turd?

i said that i had dealt with the buyer and seller and both transactions went very well. i also said that i hoped they got this worked out. i'm not on here defending anybody. i was merely trying to get across that if you don't know either of them, you should'nt post up with your $.02's worth, especially if your comments are a bunch of threats.

i completely agree that sean needs to make good on this crap and he needs to do so now. better yet, yesterday. i just checked his user id and he's been on here two weeks ago so he damn well knows what's going on. and i'm not stoked about it. not at all.

sean, you need to step up to the plate and give these guys their money back. it ain't much and i know you're not that broke. appologize to them and in time everybody will get over it. put it to bed.

Ok, where to begin..

First off, my intention was never to stiff this mud member. He payed me, and i continuously forgot to ship the item. I did tell him more than once that i would ship him the bracket. But since moving to a different city for college, life has been a bit different and i find myself not checking up on mud as often. The problem was that the part was sitting 1 hour away from my place of living. Blah Blah Blah...

Regardless, I have no excuses, i was lazy and forgot to ship the item. BUT, i will say that the reason i never refunded the money is because once again i forgot about the whole situation (yea kinda hard to believe i know). I never once recieved an email to my primary account because i no longer use the email account that my paypal is registered to. Once again my fault for not changing the email setting in paypal. And the same reason i never recieved your emails, because i no longer use that account.

I never "logged into mud 2 weeks ago", most likely someone got onto one of my computers and went on mud with my autologin. I got on tonight looking for a distributor to purchase when i stumbled upon this. Eric (landspeeder) told me there was something going on mud about me the other day so i just remembered to check it out tonight.

I attempted to resolve this situation by refunding the buyer his money tonight but found that my paypal account has been locked. So i am going to get my roomate to send it with his paypal. I apologize for all of this. It was never my intention to screw you.

Also, one more thing, i didn't screw over Tanker120. I sold him a brake booster that was in perfect working condition off of a 78 or 79 landcruiser. If i remember correctly, he said he wanted either a replacment or money back because it was not a restore quality candidate because there was surface rust under it. Sorry bud, but the part is 30+ years old and is off of an offroad rig. Thats bull**** if you ask me and i refuse to return money to a claim like that. If THAT gets me a bad rep around here, that's fine with me.

(this is not to offend badass, but is the truth) I know the above sounds like every typical dead-beats answer... but you're dealing with badass here. This is the guy that upon being told by another "mudd" member on a thread actually went looking for "the loose nut between the seat and the steering wheel"... so is this a "fool me once shame..... on you.... fool me twice..... see you can't fool me again" situation?
He's goofy, and should probably never be in sales, but badass is very badass if you take him for what he is: a good person, who at the beginning and end of the day will do anything to help you. Hey, I've been pissed at him before, even thrown wenches at him and his monkey-ass friends... all while he was stuck on 'Bump-n-Grind', but he's doing alot more than some other punk college kids are. And he is very genuine.
I've met both of ya'll, both very cool. And I'm not defending the fact that badass stiffed Sputnik for months, because that does suck, but I'm sure you will get you're money back. I had to be alerted that this thread existed, wished I had found it earlier.

Props to Georg for the kind words. Props to those who forwarded word - or made calls. Props to the NFC folks - you'd have to know them to understand if they mean half of what they say and are just jerking your chain (harshly) - or if they're dead serious - but they're a damn fine bunch, just a bit crazier than most...and everyone here meant well.
