I'm looking at getting one of these and wondering if anyone here has one or has any input about them. I've read a lot of good reviews and watched a few videos

i got one about 5 months ago and it works fine.. i like the mvp because you can use it at other places were 110 is only available. it does up to 3/8 thick in one pass if i remember right so that should be enough for what ever you do. i was glad i got it. plus its not that big and bulky

I've had mine for a couple of years now. Really really like it. I have used it on 3/8" to build the supports for a rear bumper, it worked great. I have it running on 220V in my garage, but I've also tried it in 120V and it does fine. I took it to school this Spring to demo to our welding class, the instructor and 2 students went right out and bought themselves one.

Its an awesome unit. I highly recommend it.

I think it is an awesome welder. I love mine. It is easy to use and gives fantastic results.

I got one from my folks as a birthday gift a couple years ago and absolutely love it. Like has already been said, the MVP is great when you don't have 240VAC available. I fabbed the Mazda seat brackets for my 62 using mine on a 120VAC circuit and it did great work. Also, this is my first welder and before using it I had zero experience. With the exception of help and tips from some friends I'm entirely self-taught with MIG, and once I built up a bit of skill I was able to make outstanding welds with it.

Well my mind's made up. Now I just gotta come up with the change and find the best deal

You should pay about 1000 dollars. That's what I paid thru airgass. They will sell it at cost and they will make money off of you when you buy the other stuff like gas and hood

Another option is the Thermal Arc 211i.

This was just released and they're giving away a free helmet with it. $1135 delivered.

One thing I do like about this welder is the ability to use the large size roll of wire. (12" size roll of wire).
No idea on how it works, but do like having digital readouts AND Inductance control as well as ability to run 110/230v input power.

This is a good all around for someone who will buy just one welder. IMHO, better feature and value than the Millermatic 211MVP. I would not be surprised if it welds better too.

Another good option. Less $$ than the Miller, but still a very good welder. Might have to pay tax if you have a Northern Tools in your state.

I wouldn't buy a welder off eBay. Too much risk, if something goes wrong you're screwed, dealing with how to get it fixed, etc. I bought mine from the local Airgas up the road, great price, great service.

The Miller 211 holds an 8" spool, I have one in mine now.

Thermal Arc 211i will hold a 12" spool. Much better wire selection choices than being limited to 8" spool of wire.

I would not have any reservation buying from a reputable dealer since the welders are dropped shipped from the manufacturer. Larger welders are shipped freight so risk of damage is minimal.

Don't know about Thermal Arc.... Miller dealer will warranty the welder even if you purchased them on the internet.

Indian Oxygen is a great dealer to deal with. Highly doubtful you'll have any issues should you need to claim warranty.

That is a nice unit. Cool that it can also do TIG if you get the setup for it.

My point with buying on the Internet (eBay) is if anything goes wrong with my Miller, I put it in the truck and take it up the street to Airgas. They fix it right there. No shipping, no phone call run around, and my money stays local.

I bought one one e-bay for $700.00 almost new, the guy used it once still had full spool of wire on it. Have used it at many time with no problems.:)

Got mine for work at 845.00 with stand, spool of wire, and gas bottle. Tech Air...great store.

Just got the spool gun....cant wait to try it. Very happy with the unit...and starting to get better at it.
