Thanks Cansurf for the info about where to go. It was worth the 2400km journey. :) My old Mercedes musta looked funny towing it down the highway........

Enjoy!

You can buy new hub/drums with the LC bolt pattern, if you want it to match your truck.

Did it come with a tarp? The fellow local to me will exchange the complete miltary light harness for a new in the bag tarp if that's your fancy.

Not sure...I was hoping to use the tough lamp assembly, but the wiring is of little use to me. I would rather use a 4wire flat connector style.

Does he want the lamps too? Whats the tarp look like..Camo?

by the way Greg I have not pulled the pulley off yet. I soon as I do I will send the spacer to ya.... Thanks!

i went out and looked at one of John's today with his partner Mike. thanks for the tip Greg, they seem like good guys and had some other cool trailers for sale including an m116 and an m100? which are both much bigger and heavier trailers (pic of a m116 below - they want $900 for the 116 and $1500 for the m100). think I will go for the 101. in fact i bought the pintle hitch from princess auto on the way home so I guess i'm commited :D

Greg did you switch your hubs yet? I'd be interested in buying a stock spare off someone to tide me over as it will be a while before i convert the hubs (now that i think about it greg, you are probably using those old 16x7 rims I sold you on your trailer so you have to give me a shot ;) )

they have a place out in the valley that will sandblast them and prime them and I'm thinking I might do that if the price is right. The rust is not bad but it looks like it could get bad in the A frame. this is the first time i've seen army surplus stuff with only one thin coat of factory paint on it so it should be a quick cheap sandblast and worth it.

Semlin, how many 101s does John have left? Quite the back yard he has going there, eh?!
Please post up the blasting place and cost when you have the info - it's the first project on the list for mine too.

not mine - just stole the photo for my trailer file. it has a cummins in it and belonged to a biodiesel guy / mud member in utah who i noticed yesterday just sold it. saw it at moab this year and it has that ideal pig mix of good mods and decent body but still kind of loud, crude and dented :D

No worries. Glad they could help. Nice graveyard eh?

I have not switched out the hubs yet. On the list for this month. Unsure what I am going to run for tires yet for Alaska. Will keep you in mind when things finalize..

Well i picked my trailer last night. thanks for the tip Greg. John was great to deal with and his yard was great fun and he let me take some photos. the trailer is great. btw, it is rated 1250lbs on road, 1/4 ton offroad.

I am trying to see if I can help him move his tarp covers (he has a bunch) and 3 remaining trailers with a little subtle publicity on mud. so far I've got a quite serious inquiry about buying his halftrack (which i somehow doubt is for sale)!

Also, I was given the part number for the brake drum/hub assembly a while back by a fella in the USA that switches the bolt pattern to 6 on 5.5...so one can run the same wheels as your LC if you choose. Bruce picked two complete sets from Standen Trailer in Calgary for Norm and I, however neither of us have put them on yet to confirm fit.

Greg/Norm and anyone else that has swapped their hubs... I'm looking to buy a spare, or if the price is right, I'll buy a set of hubs/wheels/tyres. :D

Thanks, -Steve

Any of these suitable for dirt bikes you think ?

semlin - Any chance I can bribe you for box dimensions, outer width, and hitch to gate dimension ?

no gate on them, unless you cut it in. Too short for bike I think. I can post lenght tonight.

the yahoo military trailer forum noted above has an incredibly detailed pdf manual on these things and 3d drawings so i expect it will have all dimensions you need. i doubt it's dirt bike compatible unless you cut in a tailgate then leave it down, and the wheelwells might limit you to one fullsize bike. mind you when i was a kid we used to get 4 dirt bikes into a fullsize 60s ford pickup bed.
