I have to sell my 91 FJ80 (reluctantly, I might add. I'm moving out of the country).

It's got 193K on the engine. I didn't even think twice about the mileage when I bought it at ~180K.

My question is: Does the fact that the truck has 193K on it scare off the average potential buyer.

I get responses from people like "oooh, thats alot of miles" etc etc. But IMHO the engine is still in its adolescence at 193K.

What's your opinion. Is 193K really a lot of miles?

My first car was an '85 Toyota Pickup. When I sold that I had 270K on the little bugger.

Here is the Inconvenient Truth, as I like to call her: (sorry for the enormous pic I'm a 'tarded n00b)

i have 315k on mine, for the average buyer it will probably scare them off, for someone looking for one of these it shouldnt, you can always point them to this website if they want to do some research. I know when we bought our the main thing we were looking for was third row seating, 4 wheel drive and no car payment, this fit the bill perfectly, and i have buddies that now want one also, good luck

that thing is a beaut!

seems like thats low, to getting warmed up mileage.

My basket case has 270K as I bought it from some real tards who thought the only place you could buy part$ for it and the only people that could work on it was the Toyota dealer..

Runs like Krap but the optimal word being....runs....puts a smile on my face every time I visit the BMW dealer :)...to know my old az wore out $1,400 LC is more dependable than a $100,000 BMW! :flipoff2:

3fe :grinpimp:

Canada or Mexico, I'd have to throw in some E-Lockers and take it with me.

Yes, it will scare off the "average potential buyer" - but they also don't understand why it will be so much more expensive than a suburban or tahoe that is a couple of years newer with lower miles. When I sold my '97 I finally gave up on the local ads and took the sign out of the window, it was much easier to deal with people who knew what they were looking for.
