Thanks for posting this. I've bookmarked. I have a 2005 and am afraid every time I touch my display. It's good to know that there are multiple options for when it finally goes out. I could care less about the Nav but consistently utilize the phone and of course climate control.

Mine has some dead spots on the screen. I really can't use the navigation because I can't align myself with the screen. Touch a T and a D pops up.

Tried to kill bass in my stereo since a door speaker is blown and I could not get the down Bass to work.

I guess I am on the slippery slope to Nav death.

Fyi - I believe you are able to calibrate the screen through the Service Check Mode:
On mine you hold down info button + switch headlights on and off 3 times. This should take you to the Diagnostic Menu where you go to the Display Check... Haven't used it to calibrate but I believe that's what it's for (along with being able to confirm the issue).

Cool secret menu!

I found the touch screen calibration and it seems I have a dead spot in the bottom left.

Hopefully that is the only thing that is bad. I can live without the GPS nav, I just dont want to redo the screen. Sounds expensive any way you go.

I am also desperate About my HDJ100 2004 NAV System.
Working on the pin60 issue did´nt Change the Situation , an Exchange of the platine also.

The screen is on, but first with empty datafields and no Nav or Audio and a/c Access.

(A lot of error codes at each Position of the avc-lan @ readout mode).

After About 30min, the Problem disappears, everthing works like factory new!

AVC-LAN Shows full Operation at all stations.

Stopping and restarting the car within some minutes is possible with a normal System boot, if the systhem ist cut off longer, it takes again 30-40min to normal Operation.

I am not able to understand this Symptoms.

A cable or connector Problem would Show other Symptoms, a loss of a single component also.
It´s like a defektive electrolyte capacitor anywhere in the circuit wich awakes after 30-40min.

Did anyone had the same Problem and found a solution?

Sorry , my german text corr. tool casts uppercase letters

Old thread. Same problem. Any resolution?

Bought circuit board. Will report back.

I had the same issue and it ended up being a bad gateway ECU. This was over 2 years ago, there’s a thread somewhere on here with info. I had the “Check connection to the AC” message and no physical buttons worked.
