Friends... many new owners want to know what works.... I just went from 285/75-16 (32.8") to 285/75-17 (33.8") (Yokohama Geolander AT). Compared to the OE of 275/70-16 (31.2")..... and went from the stock wheel 16x8 with +60 offset to the new Method 706 wheel which is 17x8.5 with a +35 offset. So that's a 2.6" taller tire and the tire is further out by a minimal 1.22" and you gain .74" on the UCA side. Both front and rear tires still tuck in and are not outside of the fender. It all works, zero rub, no cutting or fender liner trimming, rolls smooth, minimal balancing weights and no vibrations....and for clarification, that's with a OME 3" rear lift, 2" OME front lift w. a Slee diff drop and a Slee front bumper which provides significantly more tire space. I do 95% on road, and take long distance trips, so the focus was on a mild AT and on retaining some descent gas mileage and quiet running. This is a relatively light (28.7 LB) 'Bead Grip' and 'hub centric' Landcruiser specific wheel, +35 offset which avoids the pitfalls of the more common 0 offset. It even includes the taller front hub hat (many wheels cannot fit a cap). I waited for nearly 25 years to find the right look and fit and I am not disappointed. I tried to answer many questions up front and hope this helps someone on the fence.
