I just went to Mensfest 2008. It's a car/motorcycle/tractor/whatever show that was put on by Sagebrush Community Church. I was very disappointed that I didn't see a single Toyota of any type there, and there were a bunch of vehicles. We should think about entering some of our trucks in it next year. There was a Volkwagen club that had a nice collection of many different vehicles. There were a ton of new Mustangs and Corvettes. I did see a couple Jeeps, a couple orignal style Broncos, a few ridiculously lifted Chevys, lots of classic cars, some lowriders, tons of motorcycles, even some classic tractors and a 1957 Mack Truck. The entry fee was $15 this year but if your club brought 5 or more vehicles, they waived the entry fee. I think having several Land Cruisers from FJ40 through FJ Cruiser would be a nice addition to the collection. They even had free hot dogs, sodas and water. I probably would have stayed more than 2 hours but it was getting very hot and the kids were starting to complain, especially after I wouldn't let them go in the jumper.

It's been held on Father's day the two years they've had it so I expect it will be on Father's day next year as well. What kind of interest would club members have in doing this?

I think it would be cool to show off our rigs. And to give some on-lookers a peek at the club as well. I'm in.

Me too. With Da'40.

Now you have a deadline. And don't worry about the paint job. There were several Rat Rods at the show today. :flipoff2:

Depending on my work schedule, and whether :princess: rigs can come play... :hhmm:

Saw something about it on the news tonight, looks like a fun event, and a great way for the club to get out into the community. Good idea Marc!

as long as it is nothing like the Wheels Museum event :o

I was thinking the same thing. As long as the event is established with a track record, and is not the "first annual" I would not mine being involved.

If they do it next year, it will be their third year. They seemed well organized. There were several exhibitors that set up their shade shelters behind their vehicles and just hung out for the day. I thought it was well put together and it was definitely well attended. Parking for spectators was not well taken care of though but if you're an exhibitor, you don't need to worry about that. The show actually started Saturday night and the church provided overnight security for those that wanted to set up on Saturday instead of just coming early on Sunday morning.
