Alright gents, our current plan is shaping up. Friday night we'll have a campsite along Parke Creeke road which is just off pavement and extremely simple to get to. There are areas that elk hunters use that make for perfect large group spots, and they're on the creek. Caleb and Kadar will, for sure, be heading out to grab these spots Friday afternoon/evening at the latest.
The Saturday crew, which may or may not include myself (things change a mile a minute around these parts!) link up at the campsite which will be easily accessible after a short stint off pavement. Barring any major catastrophe, there's not much in the way one can do to mess up finding the place. I can post a more detailed map, .gpx file, .kml file, or whatever you guys need if it will help.
Saturday will consist of getting the whole band together in the morning then setting off to West Bar, with a hopeful arrival time of early afternoon. That should leave us plenty of time to find some real estate and get in the water. I'm
really hoping it's not a madhouse out there with boaters.
Sunday we'll head out of the wildlife area through the North and go through Wenatchee. We're then going to check out an all off-pavement route that will lead us from Wenatchee over to Douglas Creek that Aaron wants to take us down. I'm not familiar with the route, but he's got such honest eyes, I don't see what could go wrong
Sunday night we'll find some real estate in the canyon by the creek. Monday will be the "go home" day with the potential for additional meanderings south of Ellensburg for those interested in taking the long way back West.
Of course, this is all optional and people are always more than welcome to come and go as they please. It's looking like we're going to have a larger turnout than expected, with plenty of wives/girlfriends/kids, so this will be a family friendly event.
More to come!
