If everything gets washed for me I'll be free to roll, but as it stands now I'm hoping to leave really early Saturday... like 0600 SP from Tacoma.

My general plan would be that I could link up with whoever is camping Friday night before they have broken camp and are itching to roll.

There's also a slim chance I could get out Friday night, but it would be late... like early morning Saturday arrival.

Bah, I really want to leave thurs Will but I dono, with the wife being prego and such it may be a good one to cut a little short. It would work perfect for me to camp thurs night in liberty hunt turkey friday and wait for everyone else to roll through sat morning...

Well gents, things seem to be firming up a bit. A route has been suggested by a non-posting (we still love him though :)) member that he's got that in mind that would take us from Liberty to Ephrata on 98% dirt.

It sounds like the group will be about split between those camping Friday (and earlier) and those of us heading out early Saturday. My count is 8 rigs heading out, it should be a good time.

It seem a Saturday rendezvous is in order. We could either link up in the morning, pick a time in the afternoon to link up somewhere offroad, or just link up when it's time to camp. If we go for the evening/camp option, we could either specify a site to meet at (which seems to run the risk of not having a good spot unless someone knows something) or come up with an area and a communications plan.

I know a few of you have SPOT, most of us will have GPS, and a few of us will have VHF.

Any preferences?

For clarification I've got:

Heading up Friday or earlier:

- William
- Kyle
- Caleb
- Kadar
- Mike (maybe)

Saturday:

- Me
- Jones
- Aaron
- Nick (maybe)

If I missed anyone else, I apologize. I promise I'm not trying to get too organized here, but don't want to waste anyone's time

TABLE MOUNTAIN AREA TRAIL CLOSURES: Gates are being installed and ALL roads in the Table Mountain area including the trails around Liberty will be closed until June 15th to mitigate trail damage due to wet conditions. registered volunteers (members of PNW4WDA, WOHVA, NMA) will be working with the USFS to clear trails and THEY will be the people recommending the opening of trails. Thank you to Mikki Douglass from the Cle Elem Ranger District for early dissemination of this information. We will report more when we know more.

Well s***.

If I go it will be a Friday gig. Still trying to figure out if I'm going east with you guys or south to Brown's Camp in Oregon with my brother. He's hot and bothered about doing Oregon, but he isn't sure about his work schedule yet.

Put me down as a maybe for Friday.

Gotcha. Would be cool to camp with ya, but we'll have a crowd so it's understandable if you guys head south instead.

We've got to revamp our plan... Liberty is closed until June 15th.

Colockum, perhaps.

If anyone is on facebook there's a Cle Elum Trails page or group or something that should have updates to this. Might be worth a look?

Looks like I wont be able to get tires in time for this trip but I will be ready for where ever we go (near water hopefully). I want to do some fishing haha.

Yah i would like to go but still not positive. If i can get it together it would be saturday mornin i would leave

Gotcha.

For the Saturday crew, how early is everyone able to leave? I wouldn't mind being in the Ellensburg area by 0900.

Alright gents, our current plan is shaping up. Friday night we'll have a campsite along Parke Creeke road which is just off pavement and extremely simple to get to. There are areas that elk hunters use that make for perfect large group spots, and they're on the creek. Caleb and Kadar will, for sure, be heading out to grab these spots Friday afternoon/evening at the latest.

The Saturday crew, which may or may not include myself (things change a mile a minute around these parts!) link up at the campsite which will be easily accessible after a short stint off pavement. Barring any major catastrophe, there's not much in the way one can do to mess up finding the place. I can post a more detailed map, .gpx file, .kml file, or whatever you guys need if it will help.

Saturday will consist of getting the whole band together in the morning then setting off to West Bar, with a hopeful arrival time of early afternoon. That should leave us plenty of time to find some real estate and get in the water. I'm really hoping it's not a madhouse out there with boaters.

Sunday we'll head out of the wildlife area through the North and go through Wenatchee. We're then going to check out an all off-pavement route that will lead us from Wenatchee over to Douglas Creek that Aaron wants to take us down. I'm not familiar with the route, but he's got such honest eyes, I don't see what could go wrong ;)

Sunday night we'll find some real estate in the canyon by the creek. Monday will be the "go home" day with the potential for additional meanderings south of Ellensburg for those interested in taking the long way back West.

Of course, this is all optional and people are always more than welcome to come and go as they please. It's looking like we're going to have a larger turnout than expected, with plenty of wives/girlfriends/kids, so this will be a family friendly event.

More to come!

Looks like I'll be a no go for memorial day weekend. My brothers schedule is firming up and we'll be heading to Brown's Camp down in Oregon to destroy his jeep that weekend. He's looking for more of a wheeling trip, and less of an overland thing, as that's what he's set up for (I'm happy either way).

Sometime in the next couple weeks I'll likely be posting up some plans for a trip up to liberty on father's day weekend. I love wheeling up there- fewer crowds, fewer idiots, incredible views.

Look forward to seeing pics of your trip and hearing how things went. Safe travels!

Mike

Thats a bummer I was looking forward to cruising through from liberty. But heading to dougles all off payment sounds like a blast. I just wish we could do it in reverse!

still trying to figure if I am heading out saturday or friday\thurs
william when are you heading out?

its going to be a fun trip! I cant wait.
Oh btw I dont go if my turbo isnt installed. Crunch time as usual!

I guess if everyone is bailing on leaving on Friday, I might just wait until Saturday morning as well. I'm flexible though.

The lady's team is working in La Push until Friday. If they get back at a somewhat reasonable hour, we'll head out Friday night.

As far as "reasonable" goes... I've got no problem with rolling in to camp at 2 in the morning...
