Let me preface this by saying I hate giving a negative report on a shop. However, take the facts and use them as you will:
Renaissance looked over Emma's Gx460 about a year ago due to a power steering fluid leak of unknown origin. They came back with a pretty big quote to replace the rack and that the radiator needed replacement as well.
We decided to keep it in the family if you will and took it to Gary's shop (Emma's Dad) down in Havelock to do the work instead. We replaced the radiator because it was cheap, no biggie. But they found a "pretty obvious" leak in a PS hose that was much cheaper to replace than the whole rack. I appreciate them looking the car over and providing an estimate, and in all fairness asked us to think about how much we wanted to put into an '05. But, at the end of the day it was a misdiagnosis that would have cost us a good bit of unnecessary $ had we authorized the work. Maybe an easy mistake, and I'm hoping it's true. But a year later we are leak free on the same rack and a new hose. They didn't charge us a dime for the estimate, which I was grateful for.
