See the rectangular entrance into the dam? I was in that a few minutes prior to the picture being taken. The dam's age is unknown - an addition of 3 feet in height was probably added to the upper part of the dam in 1892 with the main part of the structure built prior, possibly in the mid 1800's. It is fun being inside a dam that is possibly 150 years old.

Conestee dam?
Sweet! One of my job perks is going to the jobsites and taking photos to document the progress. Some jobsites are better than others. One of my favorites was an old mill in Columbus near one of the dams on the Chattahoochee. This is one of my favorite shots.
