Similar experience. My ProFenders are incredible. The Fox's are great for speed bumps, horrifying on the highway. The rear never settles, it just keeps floating and swaying. I have 866 springs (heavy 1.5"). From what I can gather, if you are nose heavy (no rear bumper) the Fox's like to bounce.

Did either of you have them revalved for the additional weight?

Also, is anyone other than Spressomon and Skiddo running the 2.0 x 6.5 Remote Res universal shocks up front? FOX980-02-030

I'm trying to figure out if they're be a better option with the SPC UCAs and limiting straps and Eyelet to Stem adapters for the upper mount.

I was about to post in this thread. I have had my Fox's on for a few months. I can't stand driving the 100 right now. It feels like the rear end just can't figure out what to do. Maybe I got a defective set of shocks, but these things are horrible.

My buddy told me he put the Fox shocks on his JK. I walked outside and looked underneath. We measured the diameter of the shock body and the shaft. Guess what? Same...I'm thinking they took a Jeep shock and put a stem mount on the top.

I haven't re-valved, honestly I don't want to waste anymore money on Fox. I'm going Profender as soon as I can.

I never really liked the foxes. Looked too off the shelf, Doubt they actually valved it for the 100.

As far as the profenders. I have loved mine.

I know they aren't valved properly. You would need to bump the rebound up atleast 40%. I talked with Fox about the issue and wanted well north of $100 to re-valve them. I decided I would take them off in a few months and place them in the garbage.

Place some cash in your pocket and sell them to me ;)

On my returned-to-near-stock-weight boring daily driver with OME medium spring and OME torsion bars the Foxes are okay; I've had them for many months now. I wouldn't buy them again but I can live with them. They aren't making me mad or anything and the truck drives okay, just a bit mushy and bouncy. :meh:

There must be a couple of batches out there, because mine are/were on the scary side with any bump initiating oscillations that required a tap of the brake to end. They work great now that they're on my garage floor...

So., if I wanted to piece together my own "lift kit", OME coil springs (OME 2860), Profenders front and rear, and a diff drop should be good for my bumperless 100.

I would keep my OEM t-bars for now, upgrading to OME when I deiced on a front bumper.

Thoughts???

I would love a pair of ProFender front remotes, but so far they've sent me some really beat up shocks that didn't fit my truck at all. Not entirely sure how it's going to be resolved but so far has been a waste of time and money. Currently running OEM in the front and really need some sort of solution

Sounds good to me, even if you do get a front bumper I feel the stock t-bars are fine with a stiffer shock like the profender. As far as the rear spring I'm partial to the OME 866 springs which are progressive, But I'm sure others will comment

I'm surprised, I had a positive experience. I wonder what exactly they sent you? I've also heard that their customer service is hit or miss, but quality shocks.

I am running the 860s in the back. Can't remember if they are Christo's brand or OME.. They are a 2.5" softer spring. I have a BIOR rear bumper and the ride is super plush. The springs are handling the bumper just fine and I even have a single drawer/Fridge usually in the back. I do have the Air Lift airbags in the springs.. When I remember to inflate, They give about an inch or so back to the lift, when weighted for trips.. If I leave the airbags inflated, even with fridge/drawer it rides a bit stiffer around town.

For my needs this is a great set up, super smooth for everyday and still plenty stout for trips.

Just ordered the profenders front and rear. My rig isn't loaded with gear, but bumpers, winch, skid plates, sliders, fridge and drawers The ome firm sport were too stiff. Every expansion joint rattled the truck. Hope to have this remedied shortly.

Oh, 863 springs also- anybody have the same setup and care to comment in their ride, either with ome firm and preferably the profenders?

I heard that all the 100 Series Fox shocks are shipping with valving more like rb4638's custom valving now. They heard our feedback.

Do you know someone at Fox? Tell them to hurry up with the 2.5 reservoir shocks! :p

Actually I live down the street from them, I should pay them a visit haha.

...Are you kidding me? They told me they didn't have ANY front shocks for the 100 left. I feel cheated... But congrats on the purchase, hope they work great!

Yeah, RB4638's brother. I asked him about the 2.5s a week or so ago and he said what 2.5s

I was pretty sure he or Rb4638 were the ones that told me about and had me waiting for 2.5s in the first place.

Has anyone worked with Fox on a customized shock that allows for full travel, longer length, etc? Was hoping someone had already done this so I have something to refer to when I call them soon...
