Once in a while, I stumble into a part that works for under $50 when a replacement is typically over $200. Note that I really only do this with switch parts that are easily replaced and will not leave me stranded.

My driver's master switch has been on the decline since I bought the LX in January. I had one incident where I could not roll up the driver's side window before a rainstorm.

So time to find a replacement. I found this switch on eBay for $27.99 and took a chance. It works much better than the original. It even has the little green lights on buttons for night operation.

Since my LX may average 5,000 a year, this will not be a heavily used part. I will keep my old switch as a spare in the event that I need to revert for some reason.

I want to share the link and pictures.

Thanks for posting this! I need to replace my master because the driver window switch broke off...Its currently held together with JB Weld 🥴

I have a 2000 LC which does not have All-Auto roll down window (one click roll down/up), if I install this switch, will it give me the function of All-Auto roll down?

Can't speak for that without knowing the difference between an LX and LC. Might be a feature difference between models.

All I know is mine says ALL AUTO and it started working predictably after the new switch.

If you bought the Landcruiser part in lieu of the LX part, your rear windows won't both auto up/down at the same time. I bought a similar piece as yours a couple years ago and lost this function on my LX. Does it bother me, yes. Enough to make me pay for a new OEM piece, no.

*Please test your rear window function (both windows at the same time), and report back. Thanks!

I just got away for a minute and tested all 4 windows. All are auto up and down. That's a nice little feature there. I did notice this switch is listed for LX470 only.

Dude, thanks for posting this! I just ordered one. I'll post my results when it arrives.

How in the hell do you guys get these out of the door without breaking the front clip off?

The front clip is spring-loaded. I think you could just slide a putty knife or trim removal took against the spring part and push it back toward the rear., then lift up and out.

The rear clip on mine must have been broken before I bought it. There is just enough remaining to keep it in the door card.

My OEM is still working fine, but I have a spare one of these in the back of my Wife's LX just in case it quits.

I have 'switchdoctor' master controls in my 80 series (one mounted, one for a spare) and they work just fine. I don't see myself ever buying a new OEM (for this particular part).

Thanks for posting this. Seems like I was looking for one of these when I first bought my LX but wasn’t able to find one for the 98-02 that wasn’t oem ($$$$). Just ordered!

Does anyone know if the front clip can by purchased separately mine is very weak now.

It is possible that any clip (left/right/front/rear) will work in the driver door panel?

Thanks for posting this.

I had a weak spring in the front passenger window switch, on the driver's door of our 99 LX. Every time you hit a bump, the front passenger window would roll down, and the passenger door switch wouldn't roll it back up. Our temporary solution was to use the "window lock" on the driver's door to stop this, which irritated the crap out of my 21 year old son when he was the passenger.

A new or used factory part was ridiculous in price, and I could live with the temporary fix at that price. For $25 I figured I'd give it a shot! Five minutes after the package arrived, I had it installed, and it seems to work just fine.

Tried an after market one before it worked ok until a rainy day opening the door under heavy rain was enough to ruin the lock/unlock button on that one (a feature which I use a lot) so I just threw it away after less than a year of usage and jb welded the original one and will probably dish out the cash for a new one ( old one lasted 15+ years so eh guess its worth it)

I have the same ebay switch. Works relatively well after 5 years. Sometimes the driver switch doesn't roll the window down. I would have to pull up on the switch (window-close) and then push the switch for it to roll down.

Sorry to revive and old thread. does anyone know what the part that the switch secures into is called. The previous owner broke the clips off so its just been wiggling around in the door since I bought it. Master window switch panel/trim doesn't seem to get the right part back. Curious if any of you happen to know the correct naming. Thanks.
