Like everyone else the master window switch bezel trim on my 98' LC-100 is shot—the plastic retaining clips are busted.
...
The used parts are $$$ and in real poor condition. I know the OEM part is discontinued for 1998-2002 model years, however I have seen lots of '03-'07 OEM parts available and the prices are much lower.
...
Does anyone know if you can use the '03-'07 master window switch bezel trim on a 1998, or if anyone has converted to the '03-'07? They are slightly different (see photo) the basic footprint is the same, but the cutouts for the electronics are different.

This guy made it work... but I think forgot to follow up with what exactly he did.

@knewstance - any advice here on what you did to the newer bezel to make it work?

Once I got it in, I couldn't get it back out due to some bending of the metal structure. I'll try to draw up exactly what I did.

Let me start off by saying, I know my outcome wasn't super pretty but it was better imo than not having anything and I haven't really wanted to attempt to make any corrections at this point.

Okay, so I made cuts both to the switches and to the bezel. Note my drawing. I'll include a current photo too. I didn't do a great job of measuring my cuts or getting a really nice finish on my cuts. I'm sure if I took a little more time on it before I cut it would have turned out better (but once its cut you can't put plastic back...).

I think that the screws all lined up. I believe that I remember using a slightly smaller screw with wider threads. Not a wood screw but more along those lines just to get the threads to grab since the holes didn't line up perfectly.

Thanks for the update and pics. Definitely better than no bezel at all. If the later bezels were cheap enough to practice on you could probably get it pretty close.

My switch assembly is currently attached to the bezel by actual deck screws that are stressing the plastic pretty hard. The driver's window switch is failing, and when I go to replace the switch I'm pretty sure it's all gonna fall apart.

EDIT: I'm seeing the later bezel for as cheap as $20, so maybe it is cheap enough to practice on. Crazy that the older ones are north of $350.

I ended up buying a new switch assembly too when I did it. I may try to buy another bezel in the correct color.

so... If I purchase the 2003-07 bezel + the 2003-07 switch assembly will it be a simple plug-N-play or will I have to wire in new pigtails?

Not plug and play and I think you'd have a hard time with the pigtails. I'm not sure if there is a different number of wires but there is a different number of pins for sure. I counted...
