the brake master cylinder appears to be sticking. I have about 1.5 inches of travel on the petal before the brakes engage when I first start driving. after I drive a little the brake starts sticking and Im basically ridding with the front brakes dragging. No slack in petal. It seems to be holding pressure for some reason.
Already drained some fluid and re filled and bled front brakes just to make sure they didnt have air in them.

72 master with 79 axles (disc) front drum rear
Master was adadpted to get the right residual pressure for disc brakes

Has anybody re built a master or should I just buy a new one?

Will a 79 master and brake booster fit a 72? I have the 79 stuff on whats left of my 79 donor.

If I buy a new one should I get one for a 79?

Thanks for any input.

My limited experience is that it is cheaper to replace a MC than it is to have it rebuilt. We've bought several (long story) in the past couple months for Bertha and they were in the $60 range for brand new (not reman). Most brake specialty shops charge $80-100/hr, so its easy math. YMMV (especially since I'm talking J**P parts). I've never taken one apart, so not sure if it's a :wrench::wrench:job or a :wrench::wrench::wrench::wrench:job.
