Hi all,
If you have seen my other posts you will know I am not a fan of the Mark Levinson audio in the GX550. I’d still tell people to not buy it/seek it out as a paid option.
Having said that after much playing with the Spotify playback equalization curves (available on the paid-for subscription) I’ve finally settled on a setup that works for me and, mostly, tames the shrill nature and gives reasonable bass contribution to the sound in my GX.
In my adjusting I found spotify settings worked more effectively than the simple tone controls embedded in the ML sound.
The modest PITA is now I use different streaming in our RX/GX (Amazon Music in RX, Spotify in GX) due to the audible difference on playback.
First world problems.
Hey Lexus - How about actual equalization settings in the GX550 ML system so don’t have to work around the ML audio shortcomings?
With this I can live with the playback in Spotify. Taking a phone call in the GX is still a poor/lousy/shrill/thin audio experience.
