My passenger door lower subwoofer speaker is blown. I have the mark levinson setup in my 2008 GX. What size speaker do i need to buy to replace it. Im reading they are 8 ohm but i see a video that shows they are 4 ohm, which is it? Should i be shooting for a specific watt rating? Can anyone recommend a specific speaker that fits well and works well for a decent price? Thanks all!

6x9 and 8 ohm as you mentioned. I believe a speaker mount adapter is needed.

I've read around on GXOR's FB page and I've ordered a set of PowerBass OE-690D, which people seem to have better opinions about. There's also DS18 and Skar.

My .02 you didn’t ask for.

I tried replacement front door speakers and hated the sound quality.

Replaced the foam surrounds on the MLs and they have been great. They are a sonic match for the other ML speakers. And they bump. Check/replace foam before buying full replacements. Plenty of YT videos on the rebuild process.

Is there a repair kit youd recommend?

Same here. I bought the PowerBass speakers so I can install them while I refoam the stock speakers. That way I can still have music and not rush the re-foaming job.

Speaking of which, I installed the PowerBass speakers today. It was pretty easy.

Factory 6x9s have seen better days. The passenger side one was in better shape but starting to tear.

Going to test them out later when I go get dinner later.

I was about to use the factory mount on the aftermarket speaker. Swapped over easily

Did the simply speakers kit. Only needed to hit the passenger door, saving the extra gasket for when the driver side goes. Took about an hour to get the old gasket cleaned up but did it on the couch watching tv.

A plastic trim tool was perfect for getting 98% of the glue off the plastic bezel. Then i used rubbing alcohol and paper towels to easily clean away any the little that was left. No more blown speaker noise but the door card does still vibrate just a little at certain frequencies. At least its not an obvious blown speaker rattle anymore. Good enough for me!

Anyone know why my driver side door speaker wont work most of the time? It occasionally kicks in and you can immediately notice the sound quality improve
