It was discussed at the monthly meeting to hold the March run on Sat, 3/15 down in Socorro. I have emailed Jack Hooper, who lives there and is very familiar with the area. He is willing to lead the trip - here's his reply:

I would be happy to lead a run, thought my daughter had a dance competition that weekend, but she doesn't. Maybe we could do the same run that I did a few weeks ago. It included Mountain trails with some rock crawling, and sand dunes at the end of the day.

Just need to decide on details on where to meet and when. We will probably have a few of the New Mexico FJ Cruiser guys show up as well.

Paul

I'm bummed. Sounds like a really good run but I will be out of town.

Have fun and take pics (and movies)!!

I am looking forward to it.

I'd love to go but a prior commitment to Cub Scouts will keep us from attending. Have fun and don't forget to stop for dinner at 'The Hat' or El Camino (I'd recommend the 2 Beef Burrito Plate if you're really hungry).

How does 10:00am at the Auto Zone sound to everyone. I can make it earlier, just don't want to make it to hard on everyone that is commuting. I thought we could head to the Magdalenas in the morning (great views and some challenges) you will get pin stripes on this trail. Then back down to Gordy's for some rock crawling and sand dunes. We did this trip a few weeks ago, ended up being alot of fun. Again I'm up for starting earlier, but it's up to you "commuters". Just relized daylight savings time will be in effect, we'll get to play late.

This sounds great to me...:bounce:

I almost got stuck with OT that weekend...

But I wiggled my ay out of it. I would like to get there earlier. I would have no issue meeting up with you at 8.

But I will comply with the group consensus.

I'll be on call for a recovery mission if needed now that my truck is up, running, and available for duty.

:D

I'm in!!

The earier the the better as far as I am concerned, but whatever the group decides is fine by me.

Rory,
I am an early riser but you *do* realize that meeting place is in Socorro which is over an hour south of town...

Sweet. Then lets say meet at 8, and see who opposes. I don't expect any objections until the last minute (which is usual )

I am always trying to play the middle ground - so if we split the diff - looks like 9am!!!:steer:

We are meeting in Socorro, there is only one Autozone.

And they're lucky to have that. ;)

I actually did eat lunch at a new (I think) restaurant there today that was pretty good. It's a brew pub, just south of Burger King. I don't remember the name, but, yes, that's right... "The" Burger King.

Socorro Springs is the name, and yes it's pretty good.

OK, I agree we split the difference and make it 9:00am at the Autozone in Socorro. Take the first exit coming from the north go through the stop light and Autozone will be a couple blocks down on the right. See you guys on the Saturday 15th. Looking forward to the trip.
