As mentioned in the March 20th sticky: my family is coming to town, and ya'll are invited to share the fun (yes, so it looks like I have friends Rudy, didja have to bring that up?) ;)
Sis works for NMSU, neice is 9yo, BIL up later in the week, Natl Guard, outdoorsman.

Rough draft includes:
Wens -- a :princess: day out (share w/the Mud-brides) in Santa Fe (10,000 Waves hot tub, Cowgirl Cafe foodels, plaza window shopping as needed)

Thurs -- tba. Currently I do/not work, BIL arrives, etc.

Fri -- range day at Shooting Range Park - Open Space - City of Albuquerque. Mostly short guns, tho a buddy wants to work his long ones, thus the location.
followed by Hinkle Family Fun Center per neice, as her brother is off at science camp in Houston.

Sat -- some wheeln, suited to mild stockish wagons, since I'm still using this rig as a DD, and the BIL mite be bringing my flat 60 around.

Options: (if solo-ish) the Juan Thomas/S Cedro area, local neighborhoods, possibly Hwy ?56? fr Cedar Crest to Placitas (if open).

(w/others), would like to start exploring the Puerco area, as that seems to be the 'other' option we have locally.

Open to suggestions....

Wow, I didn't know I had any friends (or is there another Rudy you know?). Since I did not go out today, I may be up for next weekend. Let me see what I can do.

Hi all- I'm in! It's time to get my rig off road. Are you all trying to head our Saturday? I'm good with early morning to afternoon on Saturday- my wife may join but she's not sure yet. A Puerco run?

Carol, if you know Cedro, I am fine with that. I know a some about the Puerco, but can get lost a bit. Can still get out with a small bit of time. Dan knows it better (I am waiting to hear what his military duties are before then). Is there anyone else going out? I guess with a stockish run, I am not sure who has CB or HAM, any one have one to borrow for those not equipped. I would not mind if they could hear a bit of advice out there if they have not been there before. It would make things a lot easier. So any other takers?

You know if you are going to be posting here, you need to change that handle. Everytime, twice that I have run by it, I wonder what the hell I posted. Damn one is to close, couldn't you think of something better? :flipoff2:

I've got 2 'emergency' CB kits, so that'll cover my rig plus one.

BIL got a couple tickets in the flat 60, not 2 miles from his place, so he's content to ride shotgun and provide color commentary.

I wouldn't go so far as to say I 'know' Cedro, but I do have a fair understanding of some of the southern areas.

so I gotta ask, couple of tickets? As in citations? What the hell is a flat 60?

I owned a 60 for 6 years. You have to try really hard to get a ticket in one of those things.

I am gonna guess the "flat 60", is the non-lifted 60 vs. the lift she got on the other 60. Just a wild guess. . I don't know why a coulple of tickets would keep on from off-roading, but I guess one would have their reasons. I guess if they were for a "moving violation", that would contribute to points off you liscense? Not sure about the technicalities of that stuff.

Carol, I am still unsure as to what is going on here. Who all is going? you, BIL (brother-in-law?), sis, etc... My brother is calling me and not sure what is happening. I would perfer the puerco if no one else is going. I would take my truck, and Rad would take his, but just don't understand what is going on, opps I forgot Jon's qoute "It is only a illusion that we appear to be organized" (sorry if I messed it up Jon, but everyone gets the idea). Call me if needed (259-3169) cuz I don't have internet access when I am out on the field.

I'm out for this weekend. I am going out of town to pickup up a new part. Have fun though.

I am going to head out to the Puerco tomorrow at 0900. I do not know the Puerco very well, so, I will be sticking close, and trying to get back before noon. I just got the CB to work in the mini, I will be on channel 40.

(If you think I'm a lill nuts in my Taco; this may be a good show)

Sorry, I think I am going to be out. Spending the last couple of weekends helping friends out, I could not get much of my own stuff done. And on top of that, I found out we have an inspection for work coming up this week, so I gotta get my paperwork filled out. Ron, your idea sounds like a maybe if we can get out of there by noon. Check in the morning or later tonight. I will post up to see what I decide. or you can call 259-3169

Once agin, I was a no-show: this time at an event I was pitching. :hangs head in sorrow:

Yes, 'flat 60' is the not lifted Sept 84 FJ60 w/265k, back FS to good owner.

How to get tickets in it: don't replace the windshield (cracked, but not in drivers view) despite my sending down the $75 gasket to get it done.
Don't get it registered or insured in a county w/no emissions standards.
Park the rig out front of your (not-enforced) convented house for 7 months.
Start it once/month but don't drive it, cuz yr afraid you'll get a ticket.
Now bring it back cuz you didn't even try to make a plan to pay for it, and worry about gettin popped.

Get popped for no ins/reg/ broken windshield, 1.6 m fr home.
Forget all the widgets that go w/ it (hitch hauler, HiLift, etc), which you realize once you arrive.

bitter much, oh not me. I have the great priveledge to pay for the previously mentioned items, so's my .gov BIL dont get jammed up. Yep, love that....

I'm guessing it was still in your name? You are a very forgiving person.
