I know this jumping the gun some, but I would really like to go on a run because the 20th is over my spring break, which is the same for I believe APS which is great for anyone who has kids in school because they will be off as well. On this trip I would like to learn how to 4x4 wheel because it is kinda pointless to have a 4x4 drive vehicle and never use it for its intended purposes. I have no problem on where we go, even if it means having to drive two hours to get there. (I know some may not want to do that.) Just thought I would get the ball rolling, so people have this on their schedule.

Thanks,
Paul

My sister is coming up that week, and wants to wheel on the 27th, if anybody is up for it. Just thought I'd put it out there in case the 20th is flexible at all...

I may have an itch to get out either of the two days. Working on on house, may drive me battty by then. The work has to get some done some time. Maybe I talk a friend or two into it also.

I am in. Either day works for me.

Where to? I wouldn't mind going south. Here's an option I found online:

Caballo/Palomas

Down near Truth or Consequences

Looks good to me. It could be time for a camping run down south...

Will have to check with the :princess:

Edit: From the SE corner one would be able to see the Spaceport.

if we go 27th I gotta get back in time to be at work next day.... just means I wouldn't overnight, don't mean ya'll cain't.

I'm up for 20th, or 27th. I need a baseline run for this new truck. I'm especially into any sort of camping run.

ya'll should go on a camping run the 20th, and then maybe some HDC'rs could show me the Puerco ropes on the 27th. I have some new lead-throwers I've not shot yet, and I'll try to get the BIL to bring some reloads up with him.

Word to the wise, firearm discharge in the Puerco was outlawed a few years back. Find a desolate spot.

good info, thanx. grapevine had others moving lead there recently, didn't know it was verboten.

What's the plan for wheeling on the 20th? Leni posted a suggestion down near T or C. I'm interested in wheeling, but will have to make it a day trip rather than camping. Who wants to go? T or C is an option - any other ideas?

Bump! Any thoughts on this - anybody want to go wheeling?

Evan, I want to get out on the trail this weekend. I have to finish some work on the Cruiser tomorrow or Friday.

Still up for local-ish 27th trip: might have both 60's running it.

Worst case, I'll bounce the BIL around Cedro/Juan Thomas. Mud (the squishy sticky hub-binding stuff) currently makes even cross streets interesting: had to use 4h to get a transport unit in place, and to move my pumper through the mud holes.

Weather due agin Sat....

Sounds great - where would you like to go?

I'd be game too if its a little closer (I'd still love to do the T or C trip and camp sometime, just this weekend isn't going to be it for me). been doing a bunch of work on the cruiser and it's time to take it out for a little enjoyment considering how much of my blood and knuckle flesh are in it now. i could likely drag out the fam too if it's appropriate for what you guys work up... anywhere but paliza ;):p

I think that Leni's proposed T or C trip would be fun sometime, but it sounds like maybe it's not best for folks this time? I'm willing to go where ever is best for most people, but I can only do a day trip this time. So if people have their heart set on the T or C trip, speak up now.

Otherwise, maybe it's time for a spring Puerco run? Or possibly down to Gordy's Hill area near Socorro? I can lead a Puerco run, but I'd need some help for Gordy's Hill. Any other ideas? We would probably have no trouble finding snow in the Jemez, but John suggests not Paliza this time. I'm open to suggestions...

Paul - are you still in for the 20th? If so, maybe a Puerco run would be good for you. There are lots of options for trails and obstacles from mild to wild. It could be a good place to try out your truck and get a feel for its capabilities.

Rio Puerco would be OK with me. Saturday is supposed to be bad weather.
