I dunno if they ship.. I can if needed. Since Denver has quite a bit of cruisers.. they know what they are and often have things like bumperettes in stock :D

Do you have them online or just on your comp? I'm sure Tree would probably put them on his site if your inclined... it's save me the scanning ;)
 
I've got the 58 parts book on my comp. I didn't scan it, as it was in real good shape so I didn't want to flatten it out. Shot it high-res spycam style. Perfectly legible, but not a flatbed scan. The 7/63 FJ25 book I started to scan and that's when I discovered what a PITA it is......never finished. But yeah, I could just forward a CD to Treeroot.

Japanese Land Cruiser Proves "Irresistible Force"

A shakedown cruise by one of America's leading sports car editors resulted in "unqualified endorsement" for Toyota Motor Company's sturdy 6-cylinder "Land Cruiser." The 4-wheel drive juggernaut, using regular tires, passed exacting tests on steep grades, deep ruts, and high-crown mountain roads in back country areas. The rugged valve-in-head power plant has a 90" wheelbase, overall length of 151", and ground clearance of 8 inches. Seating, which can accommodate 7 to 9 passengers, will lay flat to permit cargo hauling and the rear tailgate drops flat to facilitate easy loading.

I love the part about seating for up to 9 passengers. We were barely able to squeeze just you and me in mine the other day. :D

I bid on that article on Ebay once. I was wondering who out bid me for that, of course I'm just kidding I don't remember if I even bid on it. I would love to have a copy of that since my monitor isn't that big and I already squint to read with my glasses on. So make me a copy and put it in the pile of parts you'll be bringing out on your next trip to AZ.

1957 new employees

the toyota motor corp. new employee photo from 1957...these are some of the huys that put your cruiser together.

i don't think the quality is too good when i get home from work i'll try to fix.

That's a happy group shot! They must just have been told they'd be working on the Crown line instead of Cruisers. :D

That's a '59 or '60. Good picture with the factory fog lights in place.

The picture is from the 25 brochure. Squinting at the article, I read "After the second world war....." before I realized it wasn't in English and I couldn't read it. :rolleyes: Nice find, someone will have to translate, see if there's any new info in there.
 
This is what I make out of my poor french.... :(

After the second world war, exports of Japanese vehicle's consisted primarily of trucks because private cars did not compete with domestic exports. Taking into account the great number models of large trucks presents tough steps, it did not think possible of export in quantity

To reverse debt tendency, Toyota chose the Land cruiser fj25 with its powerful engine its four wheels driving and its robust frame this model particularly adapts to the roads in under-developed and emerging countries in Asia, the Middle East and Latin America but the problem was its selling price. The request initially for this type of vehicle was high. However, the administrator of the time, Toyota (honorary president actual) recognized the strategic importance of the expansion of the Land cruiser and decide to align the selling price on par by competition, lack of price but gain sales.

This fast decision making entered a strong stepping up of exports of Land cruiser of 98 in 1955, 2502 in 1957, and has the origin of the fast progress of exports demands the years which followed
 
Ahhh, economics..............lower price to gain market share in developing areas. Funny, I don't think they tried that in the US though. :doh:
