No longer available from Man-A-Fre. I bought this bad boy years ago and never got around to using it. Still wrapped up as it arrived from Man-A-Fre.

Here's a link to the item on their website -

MAF FJ55 Long Range Replacement Fuel Tank

The last time they offered them they were selling for around $1000

Reduced to $500 plus shipping from Houston.

Does anyone have pictures of this installed?

Thanks C_G

Does anyone know how far the MAF tank hangs below the frame rails?

VERY FAR!

Maybe just my opinion but if you wheel trails- at least the ones I do your gona get hung up on every rock with one of those suckers! Would be awsome for overland though. There has been a lot of talk about someone fabricating a 30 or so gallon, flush with the framerails, but thats all it been- just a lot of talk :flipoff2:

I have one of those installed in my pig. Came from Oz, built by LRA (Long Range Automotive). It does hang waaay low below the frame. I've scrapped/bashed mine a few times and tend to try to take it easy off-road. It has held up well. I do have sagging springs and will eventually toss new springs on with a bit of lift to help out. I have never filled it up, yet...actually it might be a good investment to fill it up soon before gas prices raise again. :)

A couple pics for folks...

That is significantly lower than mine. Mine is nearly flush with the frame rail at the rear. We'll see what the capacity is when I fill it up in a few weeks!

Cuiser_Guy did you ever fill it up? I could try to live with the amout of overhang that you have- but not the others! Any measurements: top/horizontal to bottom/horizontal just for reference? Pretty please

Yep, I've filled it up in Mexico a few weeks ago but then did a trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras and used it going there. I put in about 42 gallons and there was still some in the tank. It had the gas station attendant asking questions if the tank was modified and I just said it was an expedition vehicle and had a big tank (taking fuel out of Mexico is illegal so they do not fill auxilliary tanks). The fuel gauge was still on "F" when we got back to Guatemala City, 150 - 200 miles later!

I'll take some measurements later.
