Hi Flint,Just cleaning up a few parts today. Guys don't forget to replace the 3 (all the same size) O-Rings on your Bypass (thermostat area). There is a tube that needs to be removed and cleaned. Don't just replace the 2 O-Rings that you can see.
Also, if you don't plan to send your injectors off to be cleaned and/or flow tested...as least clean them up, install new filter screens and the upper and lower seals. My filter screens weren't clogged...but certainly dirty.

Is there anything special about popping out that short by-pass connector to replace the o-rings? I’ve had the o-rings on standby for awhile waiting for a coolant drain. As luck would have it, that opportunity popped up so I can replace a leaky radiator two weeks before a two-week trip to CO. It should be fun doing this in the driveway and expecting 108˚.

I think I’ll save myself some grief and just stick to the radiator and finally installing a temp gauge in the outflow pipe. I’m actually taking a week of vacation this week to do all the prep for the Colorado trip, so I have all the time I need. I was looking over the battery for some upcoming wiring changes and noticed through the corner of the battery box a big blob of pink crusties. Swapping out a radiator and flushing is pretty simple, I think this one has been in since 2008/9. I also bought a new fan shroud and fan.Good to hear from you, been awhile. IF your O-Rings are not leaking now.....it might be best to leave them alone (if the LC is not your daily driver).
My bypass had never been out.....so didn't want to come out of the Water Outlet easily. Given the limited space you have to work in the fact that the Bypass needs to come out pretty much straight up, it is easy to ruin the bypass itself.
Mine would not move at all until I took some vise grips and wiggled it back and forth just a little. I still couldn't pull it out (and I'm a big guy). So I left the vise grips clamped to the bypass and used a large screwdriver to pry up against the vise grip using the lip of the water outlet as a base.
Once moving it came out OK but was so scarred up I ended up using the new bypass I had ordered ahead of time. Putting it back together was a breeze. All of that said, I wouldn't expect to be able to to 'save' the old one. Just do whatever necessary to remove it, go back with a new one.

I have new front door regulators and motors to put in and I am also finally cleaning up the aux wiring. I will also polish up my breather extenders. I do wish I wouldn’t wait till summer to do these things.
I appreciate all the help and hope all is going well. BTW, ice cold AC blowing 44˚F.
