I reached out to the owner, sale pending this weekend @ +1k from list. Still a great price if the listing is as good as it appears. Said he had lots of inquiries, haha.
Good luck if it is someone on here, post up how it went!

I just missed out...some lawyer wired him a deposit...seller seems like a cool guy though!

so people are paying ABOVE ask now for these. I hope that tactic doesn't catch on...

If you missed out on this, I saw this one below.

I did miss out...yeah sucks to not be a lawyer I guess. Another good find! That owner definitely got his use out of that. Basically same owner for almost 300k miles!

Supply and demand, that's priced too low IMO, he can get a lot more for that truck...i'm got more miles on mine and when it comes time to sell, i'd be asking twice as much.

Agreed.
I'm not yet to the point of desperation that I would wire someone a deposit to get first dibs. This is what I hope does not become the norm 😅

With these types of vehicles, sometimes you have to do that or else someone will snatch it up. How i bought my 2007 LX was i set up an alert on Carsguru for a white one with less than 200K miles that's in the south. When i got the email i called the seller right away and paypaled him 1000 deposit and book my ticket to fly to GA from Washington DC to pick it up the next day. Paid a hefty premium for airfare, and don't forget gas on the way home. Best decision i ever made, truck was beyond what i expected and i didn't even ask for a cent off, he said he had 50 people called him about the truck but he told them it was pending since i left a deposit. No doubt someone would've bought it the same day if i didn't send the deposit.

Thanks for your insight. I see the market has changed even in the last 6 or so months that I have actively been looking. I didn't meant to say I would not go the deposit route... If I was able to get the additional pics and VIN to confirm it was a great listing I would happily work out some sort of hold deposit or whatever it took.
I did the same when I bought the low mile TL with 6spd manual that is my current avatar, took over a year, but it was definitely worth it (hoping to change my sig pic soon though!).

Cars.com usually list the free carfax for you to check out, and CarGurus at least list the accidents, number of owners, and any titling issues. They are getting more rare, at least the clean non rusty ones are. They're worth the money, this is my 4th 100 series and i can't see myself driving any other SUV. Road trips are effortless in these things and you don't feel fatigue at all, just bring a lot of money for gas.

Those are 2 of my favorites, I also like how carsforsale.com sometimes seperately lists previous seller photos so you can see other angles and compare for any new wear and tear.

I think that this one is back on the market, the owner texted me this morning to see if I was still interested, I am not but thought that I would pass the info along for some who still might be.
