I got this trailer in really good shape, i really like the looks of it.My purpose for this build is to use it for camping. this is how she looks when i got it.

first thing i did is to flip the axles to attain a lift and accomodate a bigger tire size, this where i broke 2 torque wrenches.

pre flip

post flip

If i remember it right the right goes to left and the bigger bottom perches goes up.

here she is with axle flip on stock tire size.

On with the 285/75/17 tires(thanks joedap for the door to door delivery)

A lot of the folks here match their trailer tires to their rigs to save space for the trailer spare but my plan for the trailer is to be independent so it can be towed by either vehicle down the road . So i looked for a welder at my area to make me a rear swingout. I found a welder who does metal fences and gates etc. I gave him my drawings and with alittle chat he came up with this i call it the redneck swingout)

Next is how to figure out an RTT mount on my soft aluminum top lid. This is where i went back and forth with the lid that the first owner made, i almost throwed it away but when i checked the inside the frames are solid i called him and he said its from an older taco cab frame cover

. So i installed it again with two door hinges with stainless steel bolts. Found a used thule rack set at here but when it came the feet wont clear the top lid, after repositioning the artificial gutter mounts many times found a solution by bolting it upside down. I have to put a disclaimer on this though.

So here she is at sits now, it has a 2 water cans mounted on both sides, 12v deep cycle marine bat. and solar charger (not installed yet), 60 qt fridge, Hannibal RTT with annex (thanks D), camping lab awning with costums mounts. future plans are: fridge slide out and 3500 lb axle.

Nice work!

How do you like the A/T can racks? Did you just bolt through the bed or ? to mount them? I'm considering getting a pair and installing them on our M101 CDN just about where they are on your M416.

I got them used, very sturdy and heavy. It's bolted on two 2x4 horizontal flat bars wich is bolted also on the frame. I want to avoid drilling holes on the tub as much as possible. Thanks.

Looks great.

Ive been thinking about doing a SOA to my trailer, but with 16 inch wheels it may look like its on stilts!! How much height did you gain over stock?

Thanks:clap:

Look forward to seeing the electrical setup too :)

Thickness of the leafspring + tire size would be the lift, I didn't measure though. I'll take pics of the bottom when I get home. Thanks

Actually, the difference in height for SOA from SUA is the thickness of the leaf spring plus the diameter of the axle tube.

Tire size is not relevant unless you are changing tire size too. Tire size lift would be large tire radius minus small tire radius. Or large tire diameter minus small tire diameter divided by two.

Agree, thanks for clarrifying.

Looks like you've got a sweet setup going.

so ive decided to delegate its side of the trailer for two functions: right side where the annex of the RTT will be my basecamp, so im planning to put my radio on this side ,here some pics.. . im in between of making it removable or fixed on that side.

Left side where the awning would be for cooking ,10lb propane tank will be on this side....and pretty much just for enjoying the views.

Question on the tent and annex. How high is tent bottom and how much of the annex is bunched up on the ground? Can you still work the door on annex OK? Thanks.

i think i have like 1-2 ft of the bottom annex bunched up, the doors still work coz it rolls up. its easy to make them as an awning on 3 sides too.

since having the tent on the trailer ive been searching for i slideout tray for my 60qt fridge the cheapest ive found was $245 and the top$ was $335.00. So i planned of building insted, and as usual ihmud was a great resource. My total expenses was $160.45. the major $ was the slide but you dont wanna go cheap with them so i went with the accuride 7950/7957 theyre 350 lbs rating w/c is still an overkill i think. so here it goes ....

Nice setup! I'm also interested to see how you hook up your solar panel and how you run power off that battery. I'll be building mine very similarly to this soon.

Also, what are those leveling legs on the back of the trailer?

Very cool...I've been thinking about making my own slide for a generator on my trailer. Let us know how you like it.
