Poking at picking one of these up this month. Primarily using for hauling dirt, mulch, building materials and pallets of wood pellets for my stove.
Anything to be wary of? Will tow behind my FJ60, my hitch height is 34".
Thanks
Adam G

The tires are huge...make sure you Google some pics of it behind some vehicles....I also think it's around 1400+ lbs. empty.

Was actually looking at putting 36-37" tires under my 60, so the tires aren't that far off (36"-37").
Definitely heavy.

If you already know this, disregard. The M1101 has a wide axle, same as the Humvee, wider than your 60. Have you thought about the M101A2. It has a smaller width axle and will look better behind the 60.

Either one will hold more weight than the 60 can pull. Both trailers are over built, you can't hurt them.

Wouldn't mind the smaller one, but I can get the bigger one locally. I figured this trailer to be about 14" wider than my 60. Future plans would include narrowing it. Looked at the blue prints online and it wouldn't be hard.
Thanks for the info! Keep it coming.

Narrowing it would work and the tub is alum. I've read that the front landing leg is junk, most of them break, easy to use aftermarket.

They are quite abit more expensive than the M101, so do some shopping.

I hauled a popup with my Triumph sports car. As long as you remember the trailer is wider, you'll be fine. TT mirrors wil help you remember.
Whatever model you can get to your house for less is the way to go.

Plan is to try to get 2 of them.
Will know for sure in a few days.and yes mirrors! I should get some.
Thanks,
Adam G

Auction is headed up over $500 per unit, outside my budget Unfortunately. I will keep looking. Did find a m105 in Arkansas, just need to work out how to get it home.

Please do some research on the M105, I have two of them and they're huge. Made for the 2 1/2 ton trucks. Look for the M101 A3, as it is made a lot lighter and has the 37" tires on it. I bought two of those pretty cheap.

Check out the web site " Government Liquidation " for a lot of trailer sales. You're right about going for two at a time. Sell one at a profit and help pay for gas.

The first picture is of two M105's I hauled home from OK. You can see how big they really are.

The second is a M101 A3, smaller in size and weight. The A3 has the big, run flat tires, like the Humvee. It has a wider and heavier axle than the A2. I like the A3 axle for the bump up for more ground clearance.

Ron

I like that axle in the A3 a lot! Shopping on government liquidation is how I found the M1101 trailers. All 8 lots are up to $700 with the auctions closing in 1.5 hours. Sucks as they are 2-3 hours away. Might need to make a road trip a bit farther afield.

Several M101A3 in VA closing today at around $300! Nice!
Will keep an eye out for that model.

I'm a little late to the ball game, but I have a M101A3 that I tow behind my 60 exclusively. Here are some pics of what it looks like behind my truck.

I just brought back a pair of M1101's from NY. Could barely maintain 55 mph due to the head winds. Otherwise, towed great!

I'm very impressed with the construction of these trailers.

Did you get them from Government Liquidations and did the depot load them for you like that. Some refuse to do that.

They are nice trailers, good buy, getting two. You going to sell one?

I did get them thru Government Liquidation. I checked before bidding about the availability of a forklift. They did make a forklift available to lift the top trailer in place. With sling shackles in each corner of the trailer, using a couple of HF tow straps made flipping and lifting the top trailer real easy. The hardest part by far was chipping the front support out of the ice in the storage yard.

I plan on keepiing the wheels and tires from both trailers for another project and selling the second trailer. I will put smaller tires on he trailers to lower the bed to a more convenient height.
