Thanks... I’ll test it and see. I definitely don’t want to blind people.

It's a valid concern but these new LED companies are putting in some great r&d to mimc the stock pattern. Now if you have aftermarket lights people lump you into the group of people who buy cheap $30 china HID kits and blind oncoming traffic with non projector housings and max wattage possible.

Check out this video, this is why I'm leaning toward morimoto 2 stroke 2.0 who test their lights to mimic the bulb its replacing.

That was a very interesting video. Thank you for sharing. Judging by the demonstration of the beam patterns of an inexpensive LED, I believe the LasFit bulb has a good chip set for a more concentrated beam. In my video I show the beam cutoff, which is direct and well defined. There are 4 spots of light right above the cutoff, I hope those spots aren’t a problem to oncoming motorist. Thanks again for sharing.

I’m know nothing about headlights but - There’s a significant difference between using an LED Bulb in a reflector vs a projector. The LX projector does a nice job with cut off

And BTW - Those 4 spots are also present with the OEM / factory setup. I don’t think it will be an issue.

Hahaha neither do I. That video was definitely an eye opener.

Lots of "aftermarket" companies just like to do things where their parts "fit" but really don't do what is proper, which is the biggest problem. With all the advertisements that people see out on InstaGoogleTwatterFace they just believe that XYZ item (in this case bulbs) are the next big thing and purchase and install because the company makes them believe it is just a simple plug-n-play swap and they are close the the cost of the standard OEM product.

Luckily with the LX you have projector housings but they are not necessarily the proper projector housings for LED/HID lamps that throw light differently. Think of it this way, its like SAE vs. Metric sockets. There are some sizes that are close enough to work but really you should use the proper one, but can use the other in a bind. However, you really should be using the proper thing/item...

As a friend used to say, "It's close? How close? Close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades (or as his sister said, Horseshoes and Lawn Darts)?"
That kinda close, is not close enough for me. Here is MisterMemo's vid on the same bulbs but in the LC reflector housings.

I’ve had ditch lights for about a year now. I made a switch to some Baja Design Squadron Sports with the combo beam. I can’t believe how bright these lights are. These lights with the combo beam are perfect for ditch lights.

Like it...
I am debating on whether I want to get some ditch lights on the hood like that or do pencil/drive lights down below next to fogs.

Nice build. Passed you up at Animas Forks a week or so ago in our LX, but didn't get a chance to say hi. Saw HIH reposted a shot of yours and found you on here as well. How are you liking your Mountain Hatch? Need an upgrade soon probably.

Thank you very much. ahhh man... for a good day I thought I was the only hundred in the hills. It was good to see a couple hundreds on the trails. Btw were you with an 80 series?
I love the Mountain Hatch tail gate insert. Easy to clean, easy to install and easy on the eyes. They’re offering a 20% discount right now for the 4th of July weekend.

I moved the old ditch lights down to the vents next to the OEM fogs, however those are going away soon. Getting a new front bumper.

Nope, just us in our LX.

I saw the sale; that's partly why I'm asking. Now's the time to pull the trigger if I'm going to.

I wish they came in another color... but I’m good with black.

That's perhaps my biggest hangup. On the tan interior black ins't offensive, but it also isn't the OEM+ look I like to go for.

yep, I totally agree. Sorry we missed each other on the trail. Maybe our paths will cross again.

For sure. Many road trips to come...

Ironman Classic Bumper Install

I installed the Ironman Classic Front Bumper on my LX a few weeks ago. The main reason why I went with the Ironman bumper was initially for that classic Land Cruiset look, however the price with free shipping definitely helped. There’s a few other things like safety ratings (peace of mind) and ease of install that made this bumper enticing.
Here’s an install video I made. Let me know what you guys think.

Awesome!!

Please post pics of various angles.
Sorry it was hard enough to make a YouTube video. Everything is buttoned up and in its place. The video will explain and show you exactly where it’s at.

Here’s a video of the suspension I installed on my 2002 LX470. It’s really just an introduction to what I’ve installed and I have some clips of the suspension cycling through some rough terrain.
I call it the LXPlore Stage 3 suspension kit, because it’s more or less a hybrid of several different components.
Let me know what you think.

After installing the Ironman 4x4 classic bull bar bumper, I noticed the fog lights were halogen and put off that yellow light. They’re pretty bright, however I wanted the lights to match the bright white Lasfit LED headlights.
I tried to swap out the halogen bulbs with some LEDs, but I realized that I’d have to modify the entire light and bracket.
I perused through Ironmans site and found an LED direct replacement. This is an install video and a side by side comparison.
