I would have already pulled the trigger on one of these tanks if they weren't so damn big. I wish they made a smaller version that tucked up better under the frame rails like the stock tanks.

Australians have apparently perfected adding fuel tanks to lc300.

After completing a 2 month overland trip through Australia, it became quite clear that their fuel needs are MUCH different than our here in the U.S. I was shocked at the distances that I would travel before seeing a single person, or a gas pump. There are very few places in the U.S. that give us that level of remoteness from fuel. I appreciate their ingenuity and am green with envy at their access to OEM secondary tanks and relaxed emissions standards that allow the installation of aftermarket tanks.

There is a company here in usa that makes. perhaps a collaboration with them to make auxillary tank here for LX600 and LX700?

I believe that is actually an Australian company with a US affiliate or subsidiary that imports their Australian-made products.

They do not have anything for this vehicle yet.

Tundra is getting larger fuel tank for 2026 standard.

Ok so any chance the tundra 32 gallon tank can fit on the 700h?
Unlikely since the Tundra is quite a bit longer than the 300.

I spoke with my local Service manager on this and he is very interested in doing this, however there are no guarantees of course.

His biggest concern was a vacuum pump that maintains a level of vacuum in the tank. He's unsure how that works with two of them in place. That and the projected "Miles to empty" estimation will be off.

Can anyone speak to that?

You can add a larger aftermarket tank on the diesel ford super duty and until people break into the computer encryption every few years when they change stuff,, it just stays on Full longer. But they usually figure out how to get in pretty quickly, and its interesting as the hackers are Ukrainian/Russian peps as there was some difficulty getting Forscan to work a couple years ago.

I think VX tuning soon will allow you to bench tune your ECM. I have their canned tune I need to install but in the middle of home renovations hopefully wrapping up before i go on vacation next month. Which randomly will be a place where maybe I will see a dual tank lx600.

The charcoal canister and pump are the same from what I’ve seen in my research. The important part is connecting the tanks together to form a common atmosphere. Check out my markups in the first post.

Regarding range, there is a SMALL chance that the wiring harness for the second fuel sender unit is wired and that the computer will automatically recognize it. Worst case, your fuel gauge will stay at full until you exhaust the subtank.
