If you put that same bumper on LC, then wouldn’t it be better than your LX.......since in HIGH mode, your LX still has less approach angle based on the informative post above??

Automatic everything? My 2019 has automatic everything except for 3rd row. I have adaptive cruise, 360 camera, and a HIGHER tow rating.

You do understand that it has less approach angle because of the bumper that you'd be replacing right? With the same ARB bumper installed, the LX will have a better approach angle than an LC on high mode. It'll even have better approach angle than an LC with a 2" lift.

Wow...I just logged in and I thought I was back reading threads in Tacoma World. :bang:

200 series are all ugly. LX/LC...who cares?! Pretty sure we don't buy these in stock form because they are pretty. So what if she's a little thick in the rear, has an overbite, or doesn't have all the latest styles? Any girl that goes wherever you want, never lets you down and can put a big smile on your face in the process is okay on my book.

I’ve been driving Land Cruisers since 1987. Bought a new LX570 in 2014. Sold it after one year for a new LC. The Jalopnik statements mirror my own experience. An exceptionally disappointing vehicle and i regretted selling my 98 100 with 375k miles to buy it. Brakes where terrible. Side steps where glued on and exceptionally difficult to remove. Power 3rd row seats were hard to remove. levinson stereo had zero power behind it. All the plastic hanging down hitting everything. 20” wheels on a vehicle designed to be driven off road? Ride never settled down with those wheels, no matter what the ride control setting. Worthless cup holders. Terrible vehicle all around.
Fantastic Lexus dealer experience though. Toyota could do to follow that model.

Took a bit of a hit financially but was so glad when i traded that LX in for a new 2015 LC. Absolutely love that truck.

As well LX depreciate way faster then LC. Plus AHC is $$$ nightmare waiting to happen if breaks. As well ride is way more floaty when drove it. Face butt ugly. Some of the reasons why bought two LCs and not LX. Ahh no need for premium gas too. There is a reason the article didn't call out LC as one of the worse.

my .02
-20's suck, 21's suck harder.
-AHC is bulletproof and very desirable for 99% of buyers
-the 2015 LX is better looking than the 2015 LC
-Radar cruise sucks
-id own a LC before an LX, but would have to pay a premium.
-That 5.7 is bulletproof and has more than enough speed/torque.
-interior storage sucks

That said, I really like the 200 compared to anything else on the market, and one day my grand kids will be able to drive it.

Not sure on the AHC "Nightmare" if it's properly maintained it seems to be trouble free. Of course anything can break. One of the reasons I got an extended warranty on my used LX.

Not sure why so many folks harp on premium gas. It's 20-30 cents a gallon more on an 85K-100K vehicle. It's gonna cost you 3-6 bucks more fill up, this is where you are are gonna starting worrying about money?

I agree on several of the comments. 20" wheels are dumb on the LX, I immediately replaced mine with a set of 18" LC rims. And yes, the ride would not settle on the 20s. The cup holders are an inexcusable mess. Not sure how difficult the third rows seats are vs. the LC. I thought (except for the power feature) they were identical. I may be wrong since I never drove a 200 series LC.

I like the truck despite it's flaws. I bought a 13 LX, but I can understand your disappointment if buying one new for the amount of money they cost.

I don't think I would call it a "terrible vehicle all around" That seems a bit harsh.

LC is the base version and LX is the high end of the same platform. Many folks forget LC comes with AHC in many markets. Buy the one that fits your needs / purpose.
Many many LX 470 on original AHC with over 200K miles. Folks claiming it unreliable is just foolish.

I wouldn’t dare trade my LX for a LC. I feel that the LX is the better vehicle.

The 20 inch wheels fit the stance of such a large vehicle and bolsters the premium status over the LC.

For those who complain about the ride of the 20’s, Michelin’s and proper air pressure make it ride just as good as 18’s.

AHC is an upgrade over the LC and the easy entry access option button that lowers the vehicle when shut off has been VERY useful with small kids and handicapped/disabled getting in and out of the LX. The LC does not have this.

I along with the majority of buyers did not purchase a 3 row SUV in order to remove the 3rd row seats as I extensively use the 3rd row to carry passengers with no complaints so far.

The Mark Levinson Reference system in the LX is impressive. Feed it poor quality sources and yes you will complain about lack of volume and little power. Give it high fidelity top notch quality digital sources and you will be blown away. No such remarks for the JBL Synthesis in the LC.

I couldn't wait to ditch the 20s. on my LX.

Not sure why larger rim size became synonymous with Luxury or Premium status but I think it is a terrible trend. Larger rims, smaller profile tires and harsher rides.

Not all of us use the third row all the time and the rear seats should be easier to take out.

I have been completely underwhelmed by the ML system, no matter what I "feed" it. I still like it but if I were buying new it would be a hard pass.

I do really like the easy access option. Much easier for all to get in and out.

I look at my LX two ways, one "is this acceptable for a 6y/o used vehicle?" the other "Is this acceptable for a 100K new vehicle?"

I understand and agree with a lot of criticisms of the LX but to me they are acceptable on a used vehicle and completely unacceptable on a new 100K vehicle (cup holders, lack of storage, ML system, infotainment system, etc)

Amen regarding the price versus expectations. I use my LC as a comfortable and reliable overlanding vehicle that i can drive to the end of the earth. When i spend my money to buy new it needs to be worth the investment. As a luxury vehicle id have second thoughts. I spent a little over the price of a new LX to buy a 2100 mile example of the latest Bentley Mulsanne. Thats a luxury car.

It's hard to argue with this review, it's pretty much spot on. For 95K new it is a terrible, value proposition for what you get. However, if you look at resale compared to US/German/RR luxury Suvs it becomes a much better value.

At 5 or 6 years old it is a tremendous value..

He hits the nail on the head with the remote touch interface, I had it in a loaner and it is infuriating. It would be a deal breaker after 3 mins of using it. Again, after 5-6 years who cares because ANY infotainment system will be hopelessly outdated.

It's amazing that Lexus still can't get cup holders right in the LX.

I have a 13 LX, I really like it but i would never have bought one new......

Just finished a 1400 mile road trip, fully loaded with luggage and booze, AHC leveled the truck perfectly and in the “comfort mode” couldn’t have been a better ride!! Love the drivers seat where the thigh support moves out for more support.....best worst truck ever!!
