Hi Guys
I decided to stick with the stock 17" Lexus rims but after doing a search cant find any info on fitting 285/70/R17 and currently running 265/65R17 so would this tyre be too large or perhaps fit a 265/70/R17 AT I am not a hardcore off roader and don't plan on becoming one for my 60th birthday and also plan to retain the AHC as I like the ride.

275/65R17 = ~789mm rolling diameter
285/70R17 = ~831mm rolling diameter

My n=1 is that at 100-110km/hr on standard sizing I wouldn't want taller gearing, which the taller tyres would create. Also the standard size tyres give you more options and probably cheaper pricing.

thanks for the reply. Do you think it will have a noticeable effect on fuel/acceleration at all?

It will have an effect but I would say the pro’s outweigh the con’s.

I don’t know about in AUS but in the U.S. a 285/70/17 is probably the most popular “off road” size tire, there’s a massive amount of choice and competition in that size.
