Ordered the Pinsu rack for the LX and want to get a list of items needed and tips I've gathered off this forum to make the install go smoothly. Feel free to chime in if I missed anything. Happy New Year Everyone!
1. Since this is an LX, I will need to remove a trim piece on a pair of the current mounting points so everything fits flush. Will need to prep surface if paint is removed from this process to reduce rust. Has anyone had to do this? If so, what product have you used?
2. Get high quality silicon to reduce the risk for leaks. Some people use Marine grade, any suggestions?
3. Some have used rubber grommets to get the height correct. Ill get some just to be on the safe side.
4. Not adding lights, so no wiring needs.
5. Install side rails first and then cross bars.
Anything else that I missed?
