In looking at a couple LX's in the Seattle area and was hoping I could get some pricing feedback. All three are one owner, all service records, excellent condition. Same trim options. No leaks and where. The prices here seem to be a couple thousand higher than elsewhere in the country but I've watched with a few come and go over the last couple months so the are selling and fairly quickly. And rust isn't even evident in the ones I've see.

05' dark grey 130,000, asking 23000 private party
Immaculate inside and out. Under cartage is so rust free you can still see all the original part finishes and coatings trough normal dust.
Records look great except hasn't had TB and WP done yet. Says he can take care of it before selling. Apparently brother works at reputable shop Yada Yada Yada.

04' dark grey, 110000, will take 22,500 Dealer sale
All up to date, all Lexus of Bellevue serviced
Immaculate, some bolts have minor surfAce rust but no where else.

03' silver, 101000, asking 21,995 Dealer sale
Assume the same as others(looking at it today)
All service up to date will see records later.

I feel like I'm splitting hairs a bit and I from what I've read these years are all pretty much the same. Would you pick one year over another? I've used slee's buyers guide to check em out and they all pass the checklist.

Thanks in advance for feedback.

Have you already looked at the Slee 100 Series Newbie Guide?

If not, a comparison of features between each MY may help.

(Edit - Just saw that you "read these years are all pretty much the same".)

In that case, and based on the info above, that's really tough. They all sound very similar. It may come down to simply getting the best deal, lowest miles, color, etc.

I'd be inclined to take the '05 if the seller is paying for a fresh TB and WP. Otherwise, these are all so similar, I would decide based on condition, features, and maintenance records. Things like AHC serviced, fluids serviced, etc.

I know I suck! But, I couldn't resist. I will tell you this, LXs are fetching top dollar in Seattle. NADA clean retail value is about right, maybe can get a bit below that with smart negotiation. I shopped for two months before I pulled the trigger and still feel like maybe paid a bit too high. Just didn't want to go into the $30k+ range for an 06/07 and the limited benefits they bring over older model years.

OP - I will save you some trouble and tell you not to bother going out to Puyallup to look at the silver or green ones at Sunset trucks. They are BEAT. Make sure you buy one that has water pump and timing belt done, I'm hearing ~$2800 dealer service pricing. That's why they are all for sale with 90k-115k miles, no one wants to pay the bill for service!

Ha ha. That is a beautiful truck. Congrats! What did you get it for if you don't mind sharing? You can pm
me if you want. The 05' with 130 is even in better condition so we'll see how this plays out. Yeah I'm skipping the PUYALLUP trucks too. The sales man didn't have the answers I was looking for when I talked to him and he wasn't interested in being reasonably flexible on price either.

I made your choice a little easier- I bought the gray one with 110k. :poof:

What is the deal with a Limited Edition 07's? There is a dealer here who has one. Says 1 of 400 made. It's has every option and black wood trim. Really cool looking truck. Apparently the original owner wrapped it with plastic protective film. It is show room clean, couldn't believe the paint on it. Is there any value in these or just the cool factor of different and 1 of 400. They want 36k for it at 94k miles if anyone is interested.

Here is the link if anyone is interested. It's mint s checked it out in person last week just too rich for my blood.

Wow very nice, way too nice to take off the highway

Fwiw I paid 14 for a 98 with 56k good Luck!!!

What's "limited edition" about it? Very nice and clean, but . . .

Paid 6500 for a 98 lx with 169k.
More mileage than I wanted and spotty service records......but for the money it's been a great 3rd vehicle..

I know the earlier models are a lot cheaper but I'm looking for the added safety features and the 5 speed trans in the 03+

The limited edition one is in fact one of 400. The paint is immaculate. However, in my opinion, it is a big who cares. It was $410 to upgrade to that package at time of sale. All it is is a bunch of chrome on the outside, black wood grain instead of whatever the normal wood grain is, and a bunch of labels on the side and the floor mats that say limited edition. I sat in it Saturday. It is a bit too gaudy for me. Also, the price ($36k) is way higher than what I paid, and it has only 17k miles less than mine. I'd rather have the black and tan TLC right next to it.

I paid $22,650 for the 04. I offered $22k but based on my trade in he bumped me up a bit. I'm happy. Good luck in the hunt.

Yeah the black and tan LC is nice and the extra 45 hp is pretty sweet but 32k...... I agree the limited is a bunch of fluff. I was seriously considering the one you picked up. Glad it went to a Mudder.

Just a belated data point down south here. Just bought my 2007 LX470 back from insurance company. It was at 123K miles, body shop estimators rated it excellent and insurance company gave it a market value of $28,600, which is close to what some dealers are asking in my AutoTrader, TrueCar and KBB searches. (New Tires and TJM on the front got them to kick it up a bit from first offer.)

When in search i loved the Onyx color. But we could not justify the price/guilt for a vehicle im going to be off roading in. Hence the 01' :)
