Plug the vin into the lexus owner's site via lexus.com, you'll see every service performed by a dealer on the truck. What bothers me a bit would be time on the east coast, with the normal concerns about rust, and some time in Florida...same concerns for a coastal truck. I've had my eye on http://www.costsalesleasing.net/vehicle-inventory.php?carid=455
Pricing started around $29K and has dropped since then. I would have bought the truck about a week ago, but I've located a 200 series and will go forward with that.
I definitely would not be afraid to find a truck away from your local area...on the first link with the white truck, I could have flown from BOI to SJC for $84 and 90 minutes of my time, had dealer pick me up at airport, and drive home in 10 hours or so. For the amount of $$$ you're spending, and the relative rarity of a rust-free well-kept low mileage truck, getting to the truck is not a big deal, imo.
Agree with Steve. Price and mileage is good, but I'd keep an eye out for Texas truck. Local Lexus dealer took a one owner 2006 LC in trade with 97k miles. Priced it around $27k and it was gone in two days. LX470s show up reasonably often down here and while you have to watch for mileage and service history, they tend to be pretty clean.
Carmax warranty looks pretty good for the first 5-30 days, so does buy you time to evaluate.
Thanks @txtortoise and @hankinid , its in Orlando (non-transferable) and im in Tampa so the 1.5hr drive to see it is no big deal.
Spent 4 years in NJ, how bad could the rust really be
Also looking at 200s but my price range is in 20-30k and theyre not quite down there yet.
Theres another one in Venice that I am looking at, 2002 with 112k for $10,000. Manager was candid and said the only issue is the VSC light and Check Engine is on, so they are listing it below KBB to move it quick and let someone else solve it. 2002 so has the 4speed which is not really what I want, but for $10k, 1 owner, clean carfax, mostly a FL car..might be worth tackling these 2 errors. Link to that one
I picked up an '05 LX last week for $17700. It has 99k miles, and needed the 90k service which I just did, but is a one owner immaculate rig. As others have said, good deals are out there with patience. Good luck!
