I am hoping one of you especially the part experts can help me out here. The instrument cluster on my 2003 LX470 is wearing out, and recently the tach gauge stopped working. It's showing all the symptoms (dim backlights, gauges randomly stops working, needles vibrating) of a failing (due to age) unit. I understand the option of sending the unit to Tanin for a full rebuild, but the vehicle being outside of the US is making that rather expensive and time consuming.
I have done some research into new replacement options and found these part numbers:
83800-6D660 US 08.2002 - 08.2003
83800-6D661 US 08.2003 - 05.2005
83800-6D662 US 05.2005 - 01.2006
83800-6D663 US 2007
83800-6D670 Canada 08.2002 - 05.2005
83800-6D680 Taiwan 08.2002 - 05.2005
My VIN is JTJHT00W033529947
- I am assuming my LX has 83800-6D660, but would 83800-6D661, 83800-6D670, or 83800-6D680 work for my model year?
- I came across new OEM part 83800-6D660-RP, but I am not sure what difference the "-RP" would make. 83800-6D660-RP Genuine Toyota Meter Assembly, Combination - https://www.toyotapartsdeal.com/oem/toyota~meter~assy~combinat~83800-6d660-rp.html Do you have any info on this part?
Please share any tips/tricks and your experiences with the instrument cluster issues. Thanks y'all!
