If the lx450d has paddle shifters on a same engine and same transmission then im sure a more manual type of shifting can also be had with our LC's .can someone hack that software already and we can use the s3,4,5,6
Like a manual!

I don’t see the point. We can already shift sequentially through the gears, using the shift lever.

Paddle shifters make sense on a Porsche 911 with a double-clutch transmission, so you can keep both hands on the wheel on a race track as you shift. On a 6,000 lb truck? Not so much.

Au contraire, mon ami. I use the paddles a lot. Especially when towing. Last year I had electrical issues with the trailer and ended up with a return trip of about 5,000 km's with no trailer brakes and the paddles were very useful. I had a '90 4Runner that had a faulty speed sensor and because ABS was fairly new the brake shop was convinced it was a proportioning valve issue and for about 150,000 km's I had no rear brakes. I became very good at using engine braking before we finally diagnosed the problem and I have continued the practice.

Essentially what I.would.like to have is a true manual like transmission as in most modern automatics. This is what Toyota offered in the lx. Our lcs only have a "transmission high gear limit". 1st for.instance will go.from 1st to 4th while in others if you shift into 4 the transmission stays in 4th until you slow of course. I think this will remove the need for a torque converter lockup kit that is so popular for the lcs and allow us to fully maximize the diesel engines torque.

We don't need the paddles since its not there but just the software patch that will modify the transmission algorithm to allow.manual shifting... now this is something . We will just row through the floor shifter. Though we would need go twist Toyota's legs to get it... some smart guy could make some money if he could figure this out...

Heck, I’d be happy if forward was a downshift and pulling back was an upshift.

You could do the same thing with the shifter.
Good call, I never thought of that. LOL.
Of course, I could put the tranny in low gear and shift through the gears that way too but they invented an automatic transmission that makes it unnecessary. Before I had the paddles I would have said the same thing but now I love the paddles. And the auto dimming lights, radar cruise, rain sensing wipers and, even, the electric windows.
