NEWBIE 80's owner...LX 450
I'm looking at something similar.... I've been thinking about getting an 80 series land cruiser or lexus. I'm looking for low mileage, most likely will have less problems and a smoother running engine.
I looked at this 96" lx450 with 94,000 miles. Paint, leather and body looked really good condition (leather is nicer condition then my 100 that have seen 116,000), when I glanced under the car not much visible rust, except on the surface of the exhaust piping. When I compare it to my 00" 100 series, I would say stiffer gas peddle and it road a bit harder/rougher.... most likely the solid axle.
Can't wait to have a monster cruiser! Should I look around for the 40th anniversary? How rare is an 80'series in the US with stock lockers?
It's listed for $10,900... I talked down the car dude $900. I told him I might swing by again later during the week.
Can anybody kindly help me out with a carfax or autocheck? I'm really stoked
Let me know what you think? It has bald tires meaning I'm going to beaf up right away what's the biggest I can go with out re-gearing. I'm going to be really busy building my 80 series knowledge.... reading thousands of posts.
